Price, Release Date, and Availability

Starting with the pricing, both smartwatches are priced the same. They arrived with a selling price tag of $199. Amazfit released them on September 3, 2022. And you can use the box at the bottom of this post to buy either of them.

Design, Display, and Durability

Amazfit GTS 4 vs Amazfit GTR 4 have different designs. The GTS 4 comes with a rectangular design or shape. It has a 1.75-inch always-on AMOLED display of 390 x 450 px resolution, with the screen protected by tempered Glass. And it’s available in Infinite Black, Autumn Brown, Rosebud Pink, and Misty White.

On the other hand, the Amazfit GTR 4 has a smaller screen with a rounded design. The display measures a 1.43-inch always-on AMOLED display of 466 x 466 px resolution, with the screen protected by tempered Glass. The GTR 4 comes in Superseded Black, Vintage Brown Leather, and Racetrack Gray (nylon strap) colors.

However, despite the GTR 4 having a smaller screen size, it is heavier than the GTS 4. And the reason is because of the bigger battery capacity. Both are 5ATM water resistance anyway. This means they can be used for swimming.

Performance | Software

The performances are similar across the board. Both the GTS 4 and GTR 4 run Zepp OS 2.0 out of the box. And are compatible with Android (7.0 or higher) and iOS (12.0 or higher) devices. They support Bluetooth 5.0, BLE, and WLAN 2.4GHz connectivity.

Additionally, both smartwatches support Bluetooth calls and have support for a mini app ecosystem alongside an offline voice assistant (Alexa).

Health and Fitness Sensors

There are many health and fitness features available on both smartwatches. Features such as stress level monitoring, heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen level monitoring, and sleep tracking. Also, there’s support for women’s menstrual cycle tracking. While in the long run, the company is expected to give support for fall detection through an OTA update. Unfortunately, it has no ECG support.

Battery and Charging Tech

The Amazfit GTR 4 has a bigger battery capacity of 475 mAh that is rated up to 14 days of normal usage, 7 days in heavy usage, and 25 hours in GPS accuracy mode. While the GTS has a 300 mAh battery capacity that can last up to 8 days of normal usage, 4 days in heavy usage and 16 hours in GPS accuracy mode.

These two smartwatches are very similar in a lot of ways. They bring the same health and fitness features, and the pricing is the same too. However, if you want a bigger display then go for the GTS 4, but for stronger battery life, the GTR 4 last way longer.
