Build Process

These two chipsets have different CPU designs. MediaTek Dimensity 9000 has 1+3+4 octa-core CPU architecture, while Apple A15 Bionic has 2+4 Hexa-core CPU architecture. The Dimensity 9000 is the first mobile chip to use the latest ARM’s Cortex-X2 core based on the ARM’s V9 architecture.

Apple A15 Bionic has 5 new GPU cores with a peak frequency of up to 1200MHz. On the other hand, the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 is World’s first chipset with Mali-G710 GPU. With 10 core GPU onboard, MediaTek says the cores have a peak frequency of about 850MHz.

Even though the Mali-G710 GPU can perform a similar task as Apple’s GPU, in overall graphics rendering, the Apple GPU is better.


When it comes to camera sensor flexibility and advancement, the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chip has an edge. The 18-bit HDR ISP from MediaTek gives support of up to 320MP sensor and can record video of up to 8k resolution.

However, according to Apple, the A15 Bionic has a newly designed ISP that does well with Apple’s computational photography, the new Cinematic Mode feature, live filters, and more.

The image signal processing (ISP) of the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 is so good that it can process up to nine gigapixels per second.

MediaTek Dimensity 9000 is the first SoC with LPDDR5X memory support, while Apple A15 Bionic has LPDDR4x.  The new LPDDR5X standard for RAM is superior to LPDDR4x with a performance increase of more than 30%. The LPDDR5X is even more power-efficient than LPDDR4X.


The first mobile chip to come with a Bluetooth version 5.3 is the MediaTek Dimensity 9000. While the Apple A15 Bionic only has Bluetooth 5.0 support which is generations behind.

But when it comes to 5G support – the Apple A15 Bionic supports both Sub-6GHz and mmWave. Unlike the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 that supports only Sub-6GHz.
