The last but not the least of products released by Apple in its first 2022 event is the M1 Ultra silicon, Mac Studio, and a Studio display desktop. From the presentation, Apple claimed these three products are the best in the market.

While the claim above is a big one, the company did back up these claims with their in-house data. And while we await reviews of the actual products, here is what we know so far about the M1 Ultra, Mac Studio, and the 2022 studio display.

Apple M1 Ultra Chip

The M1 Ultra is a new Apple silicon released by Apple Inc. in 2022. This chip uses the UltraFusion architecture to combined two M1 Max chips to make one giant, fast, and efficient chipset. The M1 Ultra chip feature inside the new Mac Studio of 2022 and if you need a next-level GPU and CPU performance then you should look the way of a device powered by the M1 Ultra silicon.

If you’ve used an Apple product with the M1 Max chipset, then you’ll understand how powerful this new M1 Ultra will be (two M1 Max combined).  The M1 Ultra uses a 20-core CPU with 16 high-performance cores and 4 high-efficiency cores. It also features a 64-core GPU that is 8x faster than the M1.

The M1 Ultra silicon has a new Neural Engine with 32 cores and can process 22 trillion operations per second. Compare to CPUs with 16-core in PC desktop, the CPU inside the M1 Ultra is 90% better. The CPU inside the M1 Ultra also consumes 100W less power when working.

According to Apple, the GPU inside the M1 Ultra uses one-third of the power most popular GPUs use. And the company also claimed that the GPU inside its new silicon uses 200W less power. The M1 Ultra chip is built on a 5nm process and it has support for 128GB of RAM.

Apple Mac Studio

Mac Studio is a compact GPU hardware released by Apple in 2022. This GPU hardware can easily it into any area thanks to its small and portable design. It comes in two models, one model features the M1 Ultra chip while the other model features the M1 Max. The model with the M1 Ultra chip is the best performing model.

The Mac Studio is built to effectively cool the inside components and also accepts external peripherals. It has a two-sided blower that not only cools down the GPU and CPU but also blows out heat from inside the system. It has four Thunderbolt ports, two USB-A ports, an HDMI port, a Pro Audio jack port, two USB Type-C ports, and an SDXC card slot.

Compared with other products, Mac Studio is 60x better than the CPU performance of the Mac Pro with 28-core Xeon. It is also 3.8x faster than the CPU of the 27-inch iMac. The GPU performance of this chip inside the Mac Studio is 80x faster than the GPU inside the Mac Pro the Radeon Pro W6900X. It’s also 4.5x faster than the GPU inside the 27-inch iMac.

Mac Studio has support for 48GB of video memory, up to 128GB of RAM, up to 7.4 GB/s SSD performance, and up to 8TB of SSD storage capacity. The M1 Ultra inside the Mac Studio allows for 18 streams of 8K ProRes 422 videos.

The starting price of the Mac Studio with M1 Ultra is $3,999 for the model with 64GB RAM and a 1TB SSD. While the price of the Mac Studio with M1 Max is $1,999 for the model with 32GB RAM and 512SSD.

Apple Studio Display

Studio Display is a 27-inch desktop released by Apple in 2022. It comes with the Apple A13 Bionic chipset inside and has a 5K Retina display. It has a 12MP ultra-wide camera with the center stage feature. Its peak brightness is 1600 nits and it has a true tone feature for clear images.

It comes with a total of 6 speakers. It has four canceling woofers and two spatial audio with Dolby Atmos support. It also comes with USB Type-C with a transfer speed of up to 10 GB/s. Studio display also comes with three mic arrays and picks your voice from every angle.

The price of the Studio display is $1,599 and you have the options to include a Nano-texture glass, a tilt and height-adjustable stand, and/or VESA mount adapter.
