Apple MacBook Pro with M3 Pro chip Specs: Apple has released a new MacBook Pro that is powered by the new M3 Pro chipset. Two models of the new MacBook Pro are powered by the new M3 Pro chipset. The first is a 14-inch MacBook Pro and the second is a 16-inch MacBook Pro.

In this article, I’ll share with you the important specs of the 14-inch and 16-inch M3 Pro MacBook Pro laptops. I’ll also share the price for the various models, their release date, and where you can buy any of the models.

Apple MacBook Pro with M3 Pro Chip

Chipset

The Apple M3 Pro chipset in the 14-inch and 16-inch M3 Pro MacBook Pro comes has up to 12-core CPU with 6 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores. The CPU is paired with a GPU that has 18 cores. The chipset has a 16-core Neural Engine and has a speed of up to 150GB/s memory bandwidth.

The M3 Pro chipset is built on the TSMC 3nm process which is the same technology used in the Apple A17 Pro chipset in the Apple iPhone 15 Pro. The CPU, GPU, and RAM technology in the M3 Pro chip is faster than those in the Apple M2 Pro chipset.

RAM and Storage

The 14-inch and 16-inch Apple MacBook Pro with M3 Pro chip is available in various RAM and storage options. The laptop comes with 18GB or 36GB of RAM but the RAM can be paired with either 512GB, 1TB, 2TB, or 4TB of internal storage.

So, you can configure to have the RAM and storage of the 14-inch and 16-inch M3 Pro MacBook Pro option of your choice. It also supports external storage via an SDXC card slot.

Display

The 2023 MacBook with M3 Pro chipset comes with two different display sizes. It has a 14-inch or 16-inch Liquid Retina XDR display. The display is a mini-LED backlit display that supports 120Hz auto-refresh rate.

The 14-inch model has a display resolution of 3024 by 1964 pixels while the 16-inch model has a display resolution of 3456 by 2234 pixels. The screen brightness of both models is 1000 nits sustained full-screen. And the brightness of both screens can go as high as 1600 nits peak (HDR content only).

Keyboard and Trackpad

The keyboard in the 14-inch and 16-inch M3 Pro MacBook Pro laptop is the Magic Keyboard with backlight. For those in the US, it has 78 keys or 79 (ISO) keys including 12 full-height function keys. The keyboard also has 4 arrow keys in an inverted T arrangement.

The Touch ID sensor is also in the keyboard and it uses an Ambient light sensor. The Trackpad in the laptop is the Force Touch trackpad. The keyboard and trackpads in the 14-inch and 16-inch M3 Pro MacBook Pros are really good.

Wireless and Ports

For wireless connectivity, the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptop with M3 Pro chip has Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.3. Available ports are Three Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) ports, an HDMI port, and an SDXC card slot.

Audio

The new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptop with M3 Pro chipset has six speakers. It has force-cancelling woofers and it supports Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos. The laptop also has a 3.5mm headphone jack port that supports high-impedance headphones.

Battery and Charging

The battery inside the 2023 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro chip is a 72.4-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery while the battery inside the 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro chip is a 100-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery.

The laptop supports 70W and 96W fast charging using the respective USB-C power adapter. In the box, along with the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops with M3 Pro chip, you’ll get a 2m long USB-C to MagSafe 3 Cable and a USB-C Power Adapter.

Software and UI

The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro 2023 with M3 Pro chip boots Apple MacOS Sonoma software out of the box. This new software has features to improve your video presentations, boost your gaming performance, and personalize your device.

Apple MacBook Pro with M3 Pro Chip Price and Release Date

The price of the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro chip is $1,999 for the 512GB model. The price of the model with 1TB storage is $2,399. However, if you apply for financing on the Apple website, you can get the 512GB storage model for $166.58 monthly for 12 months and the 1TB model for $199.91 monthly for 12 months.

The price of the 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro chip is $2,499 for the 18GB + 512GB model. The price of the model with 36GB + 512GB storage is $2,899. See the M3 Pro MacBook Pro price table below for the full price of all models.

The 14-inch and 16-inch M3 Pro Apple MacBook Pro laptop was released by Apple on October 30, 2023. The laptop is now available for sale/pre-order and shipments will begin in the first week of November.
