Apple is set to unveil its new MacBook’s with the M1X chip in its “Mac Unleashed Event” scheduled t hold on October 18th. There have been rumors about the incoming MacBook Pro models using Mini LED displays. A new report has surfaced suggesting that Apple is also going to include support for a 120Hz high refresh rate for smoother user experience.

According to the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), Ross Young, the new incoming MacBook pro models will have a Mini LED panel that supports 120Hz refresh rate.

While this is just rumor and nothing is officially confirmed, Ross Young has been coming out with confirmed updates, so we have very little room to doubt this. These Mini LED panels that will be used in the new MacBook Pro is said to be provided by LG Display and Sharp. This same company supplied the panels for the 12.7-inc iPad Pro.

Panel suppliers are the same between the iPad Pro’s and MacBook Pro’s – LG Display and Sharp. Expecting similar technology – oxide backplanes, miniLED backlights and 120Hz refresh rates. MiniLEDs, 100% confirmed.

Of all the rumors about the new MacBook Pro lineup, the 120Hz refresh rate is the latest for now. And if this happens to be true, this will be the first Apple Mac with support for high refresh rate display.

The Apple iPad Pro 2021 was the first to come with a Mini LED display. Mini LED displays feature thousands of tiny LEDs to offer vastly superior contrast, higher brightness, and improved HDR performance compared to traditional LCDs. This is different from traditional LCDs that only have anywhere between dozens and a few hundred local dimming zones.

With the Apple Mac Unleash Event just few days away, we’ll soon get to know more about the specifications and display of the new MacBook Pro.
