Asus ROG Phone 6 is an affordable gaming smartphone from Asus. It is the second phone in the Rog Phone 6 lineup and is also the more affordable model. It features the same chipset, display, and battery as the Rog Phone 6 Pro but has lots of storage options and this makes it more affordable.
To know more about the ROG Phone 6, allow me to break down the specifications of the device starting with the chipset, CPU, and GPU.
Chipset, CPU, and GPU
The Asus ROG Phone 6 features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. This is a 5G chipset that is built on TSMC 4nm process node, features an Octa-core CPU with a speed clocked at 3.19GHz, and the CPU is paired with the Adreno 730 GPU. The phone has support for various network bands which means it’ll work anywhere in the world.
The chipset inside the ROG Phone 6 has a peak download speed of about 10Gbps and a peak upload speed of about 5Gbps. It features fast UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR5 RAM technology. The chipset is not only fast but also power efficient. The ROG Phone 6 is accompanied by an external cooling system to keep the device’s temperature down.
With the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip onboard the ROG Phone 6, you can play games for a long time without issues. The display is very fast (more on this when we get to the display features) and the chipset can perform for a long time without having to drop frame rates or lagging.

Cameras
Although the ROG Phone 6 is a gaming phone, it also has decent camera sensors. It has a 50MP primary camera, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, a 5MP macro lens, and a 12MP front camera. Some of the camera features include LED flash, HDR, panorama, and PDAF.
The 12MP front camera can only shoot videos in 1080p resolution. While the 50MP primary camera can shoot steady videos in 8K and 4K resolution. Note that the ROG Phone 6 is not a camera smartphone.

The display size of the Asus ROG Phone 6 is 6.78-inch and it has an AMOLED panel, supports a 165Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+. The front screen is flat on both sides and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
As for design, it has a big notch on the top and bottom of the screen. Asus Rog Phone 6 is made of Glass front (Gorilla Glass Victus), glass back (Gorilla Glass 3), and aluminum frame. On the rear, it has a simple camera module that houses the triple rear camera sensors.
The phone has an Illuminated RGB logo (on the back), Pressure-sensitive zones (Gaming triggers), two USB Type-C charging ports (one at the bottom frame and the other on the side), and is rated IPX4 water-resistant.

The Asus Rog Phone 6 comes in four different storage options, 8GB + 128GB, 12GB + 128GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 16GB + 512GB storage. It has no space for storage expansion via a microSD but has NTFS support for external storage and retains the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Rog Phone 6 is powered by a 6,000mAh battery with support for a 65W wired fast charge. You can charge the phone using two USB Type-C ports from 0 to 100% in about 45 minutes. Other charging features include Reverse charging 10W, Power Delivery 3.0, and Quick Charge 5. The Rog Phone 6 does not have support for wireless charging.
Software and Sensors
Rog Phone 6 boots ROG Gaming X mode UI 5.0 based on Android 12 out of the box and will get at least two years of major software updates. You can download and install apps from the Google Play Store on this phone and even download major updates over OTA.
