Back to School 2022: September is around the corner and if you’re like me, you’re probably getting ready to go back to campus but if you’re like my brother you’re already back on campus. Be it you’re like my brother or me, we all can agree that tech has become an integral part of our school lives. As a graduate, I understand the essential role of smartphones, laptops, smartwatches, and other tech gadgets in a student’s life.
Truth is, you might not know you need these devices but most of them are very important and can be very useful in school. So, as you go back to school this year, Tech Arena24 has put together this useful back-to-school guide. This list includes the best back-to-school gadgets you can buy this year at affordable prices. The team even went the extra mile to look for deals and help you save money on these devices.

Phones are very important for students but as a student, you need a phone that has a combination of everything and is affordable. Every student needs a smartphone that has good processors/chipsets, good RAM size, big storage, good cameras, is durable, good battery life, and is affordable.
A good place to start will be the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. This phone is made of Glass front (Gorilla Glass Victus), plastic back, and aluminum frame. It is also water and dustproof and features the good-performing Snapdragon 888 5G chipset. It has really good camera sensors that include a telephoto lens that can do 3x optical zoom and a 32MP front camera that can record videos in 4K.
Another good phone to buy would be the Apple iPhone 13. Though it’s more expensive than the Galaxy S21 FE above, it offers good value for money. It has the best chipset you’ll see in a phone that costs under $700 and very good battery life. If you can spend above $500 on a smartphone then the Google Pixel 6a is the next good phone to buy.
The Pixel 6a is selling for about $400 and offers good value for the money. It’s durable, has good camera sensors, a good user experience, good performance, and decent battery life. Lastly, you can buy the OnePlus 10T if you need a phone with a big screen, awesome performance, fast display, and affordable.
I’ve tested the phones above and for students who’ll love to also play games with their phone, the iPhone 13 and OnePlus 10T are best for playing graphics-intensive games. While the iPhone 13 and Galaxy S21 FE have the best cameras and the Pixel 6a is the most affordable and offers good value for money.
The Apple M2 MacBook Air is the best and most expensive back-to-school laptop you can buy this year. It has the best performance on the list and is also very light weighted. It can do some graphics work and does not slow down easily. To get the best out of this laptop, I’ll advise you to pair it with the iPhone 13 from this list because using an Android phone with an Apple laptop can be quite difficult. It’s way easier to pair the iOS and macOS.
If you don’t have the money for the M2 MacBook Air, the Lenovo Yoga 7i and Samsung Galaxy Book are the nest best laptops you can buy. The Yoga 7i and Galaxy Book feature Intel Core i5 and i7 processors. Granted, these two devices might not be as powerful as the MacBook Air but got you pretty much covered plus you also get to save about 400 bucks. You can actually get the both Galaxy Book laptop and the Galaxy S21 FE for the price of the MacBook Air.
For students who’re mostly into using browsers and doing paper works, the Acer Chromebook Spin 713 is best for you. This laptop can do all the browsing and paperwork you need hence no need to spend the extra money getting expensive laptops.
Smartphones and laptops are the essential tools you need as you go back to school this year but if you have the means, having a smartwatch can also come in handy. Smartwatches do more than just keep track of time but also keep track of your fitness.
All the watches on this list are waterproof and durable. These watches also have really good battery life but the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and Apple Watch 7 Series have some extra perks that make them more expensive. But the break-even smartwatch on the list is the OPPO Watch 3 Pro while the Fitbit Versa 3 is the best option to buy if you’re on a low budget.
All these wireless audio devices offer great sound and good battery life. You can pair these devices with any of the laptops and phones listed above. But, if you’re going with an iPhone, the M2 MacBook Air, and Apple Watch 7 Series, I’ll advise you to buy the Apple AirPods Pro.
Our best Back-to-school gadgets combination for this year is the Google Pixel 6a, Acer Chromebook Spin 713, Fitbit Versa 3, and Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro. This setup will cost you about $1300 and is good value for the money. But, if you have more to spend, you can go all Apple or Samsung. You’ll spend more money but you’ll also get extra performance and durability. However, if you are not a gamer or doing some heavy graphics work like video or photo editing, then the setup above is more than okay for you.
