Tecno Camon 15 Vs Camon 15 Premier: The new Tecno Camon 15 series was recently launched in Nigeria via an online event. But, somehow the Camon 15 Premier is the most expensive in the series. Which leads to the question, is it worth the extra dollar or naira?
This post is about comparing the newly released Tecno Camon 15 and the Tecno Camon 15 Premier. We can just go ahead and list couple of reasons why you should buy the Camon 15 premier. But then again, we can also give you couple of reasons not to. At this point, we have to make you the judge and depending on your personal preference you get to choose.

Network Connectivity
Both phones gives you same features when it comes to internet connectivity. There is no 5G network available in both phones. They use 2G, 3G and 4G networks which is pretty standard judging from the fact that 5G network is currently not available in most countries.

So for a start both phones are tied in this category. You get same value for the money spent here. Now lets move on to the build, design and display category to see where the differences begins.
Build, Design and Display
These phones use same Glass front, plastic back, plastic frame build. There is no ratings for water or dust resistance for either phones. The display size of both phones are 6.6 inches which is pretty big.
Next is the Design of both phones. When it comes to design, most people will prefer the full screen pop up camera phone to the little punch hole display. Camon 15 comes with a little punch hole display while the Camon 15 premier has a pop up selfie camera.
Both phones have the slight curved design with fingerprint sensor mounted at the back. For those who would love to get the full screen to themselves, the Camon 15 premier is the phone for you.
In this category, the pop selfie camera is setting these two phones apart. Every other thing is pretty much same. Same build materials, same curved design, same display size and type.
Operating System and Chipset
Both of these phones uses the latest Android 10 coupled with Tecno latest UI HioS 6.0. So, basically you should expect same customization and user experience in the software category. There is literally no difference here.
There is still no difference in the SOC section. Both phones uses one of MediaTek SOC, the Mediatek MT6765 Helio P35 (12nm) which works just fine.
Having same SOC means both phones comes with same CPU speed, GPU and image processing power. So, browsing, download and upload speed won’t see much difference. In fact, you won’t even notice the difference in internet connectivity when using these phones.
Internal Storage and RAM
So far, the Camon 15 premier comes in a single variant of 6GB RAM and 128GB Internal Storage which is more preferable to the 4GB RAM and 64GB Internal Storage found in the Camon 15. Both phones have space for expanding storage via microSD card.

It is important you understand that the advantage in favour of the Camon 15 premier here is the bigger RAM size. A 6GB RAM is more preferable compared to 4GB. But, with the external storage space, the Camon 15 can easily level up the playing field when it comes to storing files.
In conclusion though, the bigger RAM and Internal Storage with this category. At least we are starting to see some real difference now in favour of the premier version of the Camon 15.
Camera
The Camon series are known for their camera performance. But, if you are paying extra for a premier version of a camera phone you should also get that extra treat.
To be clear, the Camon 15 comes with a 48MP quad rear camera set up. Along with a 16MP front camera which promises to take awesome photos. But, compare that with the 64MP quad rear camera and 32MP front camera found in the premier version then you might start seen the reason to pay extra for the premier version. It gets even more interesting.
The Tecno Camon 15 PREMIER is using Sony IMX686 64MP sensor which is unique. What it means is you should expect better photo quality and I guess we finally understand the reason for the difference in prices.
Battery
Tecno Camon 15 premier comes with 40000 mAh battery which is good but the 5000 mAh battery found the the Tecno Camon 15 is still better. Both phones comes without fast charge and wireless charging.
Prices
The price of the Camon 15 about $168, N65,000 Naira the price of the Camon 15 premier is about $247, N95,000 Naira. We now leave you to decide if for an extra value in technology (pop up selfie camera), a bigger 32MP front camera, a better 64MP back camera and extra RAM size, you’ll pay the extra cash to get the Camon 15 premier.
No doubt the Tecno Camon 15 Vs Camon 15 Premier phones have allot in common. Well they are produced by same company under same phone series. But, don’t miss out the features that sets them apart. It shows the extra values you’ll get when you pay the extra money for the premier version.
