Corning Gorilla Glass DX and DX+ will improve camera experience and also serve as lens protection. But how? If you carefully take a look at the rear camera of your smartphone, you’ll notice there is a covering glass to the sensor.

Since 2018, the Corning Gorilla Glass DX and DX+ have been covering smartwatch displays. But on smartwatch, the Gorilla Glass DX and DX+ is used because of its toughness and not easy to crack.

However, on smartphones, the Gorilla Glass DX and DX+ will be used for more advantage.
First, it is expected to offer advanced optical performance by letting in more light to pass through to the camera sensor. For example, regular smartphone lens covers may allow 92% light to pass through to the camera sensor. But the Gorilla Glass DX and DX+ will allow up to 98% lighting. And like well all know, “more light means better photo”.

Second reason why the Gorilla Glass DX and DX+ is the right way to go, is because of its toughness. Corning states that its Gorilla Glass with DX and DX+ offers better scratch resistance and durability.

And thirdly, Gorilla Glass DX and DX+ offer less reflection and has a way of reducing intensive blinding light that is from opposite direction. Which when combined with improved clarity should result in better-looking photos.

While we await the first smartphone to use the Gorilla Glass DX and DX+, the company however has revealed that Samsung will be the first company to use the new tech in its devices.
