Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 having issues after installing Android 12

If you missed it, we recently published a post about how you can get up to $900 and $100 discount on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 respectively. But, there is even a bigger issue that you should know.

Samsung has started rolling out the stable OneUI 4.0-based on Android 12 update to its Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 in some countries. And so far, this installing the Android 12 on Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 has been plague with issues.

Lots of users who have installed the OneUI 4.0 update is getting lots of problems on their Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 devices. Most of these issues are coming from South Korea but other regions are also affected.

Galaxy Z Fold 3 recovery

Some of the worst problems reported so far is on Samsung’s South Korea support forum. The issue includes bricking of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 or making the device stuck in recovery mode.

Issues such as flickering screen, slow performance, dual messenger not working with some apps, and dark mode. Other issues so far includes, can’t take screenshots, not been able to use Netflix and YouTube, and even images disappearing from the Gallery.

After installing the Android 12 update, some Galaxy Z Fold 3 units is also said to be stuck on a 60Hz display refresh rate.

Some sources in South Korea has said the Samsung has decided to stop the Android 12 update rollout for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 for now. At least until the bugs are fixed.

So, if you live outside South Korea and you get the notification to install the OneUI 4.0 update on your Galaxy Z Fold 3 and/or Z Flip 3, you might want to wait. Until this bug saga is cleared up before you install such update.

    Just updated to android 12 last night on my fold 3 and now I have no internet or phone. I tried all the common fixes to no avail. Can’t find help anywhere. So now I’m stuck with a $1800 phone only good for wifi use….wtf

      I’ve got the same deal … No 5G, only WiFi and at the most 2G. T-Mobile is sending another phone to replace.

      Updated to android 12 and only having an issue with rotation of the screen to landscape modes. Absolutely no other problems. Some of the comments definitely need to be addressed by samsung service.

      Had the same issue on T-mobile. Installed the update to Android 12 and everything was fine for about 2 weeks. Then I had the same issues you mentioned. Installed the security patch hoping it would fix my Fold, but to no avail. Did all the troubleshooting I could, even got a new sim… no dice. T-mobile had to replace my Fold. What BS

    This sucks I have no signal what so ever the keyboard is lagging certain apps won’t open. Pictures disappeared. This is the most retarded purchase I’ve ever made I regret every second of it now im stuck with a phone with no network connect at my house where i always had coverage before. Help
