Durability has always been a concern when it comes to foldable smartphones. And the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 still poses same concern for users. But, Samsung has decided to use the strongest folding glass yet for this new foldable device.
According to Ice Universe, the folding glass of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will the strongest yet. This screen will be stronger than the one used in the previously released Galaxy Z Fold 2. It will also be stronger than any glass used in the screen of foldable smartphones launch in 2021 thus far.
The new glass technology will be the upgraded version of the ultra-thin glass 9UTG) which Samsung introduced on the Galaxy Z Fold 2.
With the Galaxy Z Fold 3 expected to have S pen support, the front glass needs to be strong so as to avoid taking scratching easily. So, this upgrade in folding glass will make the Z fold 3 more durable.
The report also included that this new foldable Samsung phone will be coming with last get camera sensors. Same camera sensors used in the previous Z fold 2. Well, it make sense as this will help keep the cost of device lower.
Basically, Samsung is bringing a stronger Z Fold 3 by spending more on the glass and leaving camera behind. But, this does not mean cameras of the Z fold 3 will be terrible. I mean, the photo quality from the Z Fold 2 is top notch and as far as photography and videography goes, the Z Fold 3 will do excellently well.
However, coming with last gen camera means it won’t be the best camera smartphone to buy in 2021. Rumor also has it that the selfie camera of the Z Fold 3 will be under display – not confirmed.
Other features of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 include; 4,380mAh battery, Snapdragon 888 chipset, 12GB RAM, up to 512GB of storage, Android 11, and 7.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will debut on August 11 along with the Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy S21 FE, and Galaxy Watch 4.
