Pixel 6a vs Reno8 Pro: Display, Design, and Durability
The Google Pixel 6a has a 6.1-inches OLED display while the OPPO Reno 8 Pro has a bigger 6.7-inches AMOLED display (the display of the Reno8 Pro is 0.6-inches bigger). The display of the Reno8 Pro has support for a fast and smooth 120Hz refresh rate but that of the Pixel 6a only refreshes at 60Hz. Scrolling through the screen and navigation on the Reno 8 Pro is smoother and faster.
The front screen and back panel of the Reno 8 Pro are flat but the Pixel 6a has a flat-screen and a slightly curved back panel. The screen-to-body ratio of the Reno 8 Pro is 90.3% while that of the Google Pixel 6a is 83.0%. The difference in the screen-to-body ratio can be clearly seen in the slimmer bezels of the Reno 8 Pro. Both smartphones have FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2412 pixels for the Reno8 Pro and 1080 x 2400 pixels for the Pixel 6a).
The Reno 8 Pro is made of a Glass front (Gorilla Glass 5), aluminum frame, and glass back. In contrast, the Google Pixel 6a is made of a Glass front (Gorilla Glass 3), aluminum frame, and plastic back. The front glass of the Pixel 6a is not as strong as the front glass used for the Reno8 Pro. But, the Pixel 6a is water and dustproof but the Reno 8 Pro is not.
The rear designs of both smartphones are different. You can spot the difference from a mile away. On the rear, the Pixel 6a has a camera module that runs horizontally from left to right on the top of the back panel. On the rear, the camera setup of the OPPO Reno 8 Pro is 50MP + 8MP + 2MP and 32MP front camera. In contrast, the camera setup of the Google Pixel 6a is 12.2MP + 12MP and 8MP front camera.

The ultra-wide camera also serves as a macro lens for the Pixel 6a but the Reno 8 Pro features a dedicated 2MP macro lens.
The 8MP front camera of the Google Pixel 6a is better than the 32MP front camera of the Reno 8 Pro. You can record videos in 4K resolution using the primary cameras of both phones. In video mode, you can record using the gyro-EIS and OIS features on the Pixel 6a giving it better stabilization. The Reno8 Pro main camera has support for gyro-EIS stabilization in video mode but the Pixel 6a has better stabilization features.
Google Pixel phones are among the best camera phones in the industry. This is because Google uses its own image processor chip to enhance the quality of photos and videos balancing white, exposure, blur, and quick focusing. of course, the Reno8 Pro also has an image processor from the chipset but Pixel 6a comes with a dedicated chip for that purpose and this makes them better camera phones.

The performances of the Google Pixel 6a and OPPO Reno 8 Pro are different. This is because both smartphones are powered by different chipsets. The Google Tensor chip is used in the Pixel 6a while the Dimensity 8100-Max is used in the Reno 8 Pro. These two chipsets are 5G enabled making both phones have support for 5G network connectivity.
The Dimensity 8100-Max (Reno 8 Pro) and Google Tensor chipsets (Pixel 6a) are built on a 5nm process technology. So in the area of heat management and efficiency, both smartphones are very similar. But their difference comes in performance. The power CPU Core of the chipset in the Pixel 6a is the latest Cortex-X1 which is faster and better than the Cortex-A78 CPU core in the Reno8 Pro.
The Google Pixel 6a also features a more powerful GPU. The ARM Mali-G78 MP20 GPU in the Pixel 6a is more powerful than the ARM Mali-G610 MC6 GPU in the Reno8 Pro. Pixel 6a vs Reno8 Pro: Software
The Google Pixel 6a boot stock Android 12 out of the box and Google will be rolling out three years of major software updates for this device. In contrast, the OPPO Reno 8 Pro boots ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12 out of the box and OPPO is promising at least three years of major software updates for this phone.
Google Pixel 6a vs OPPO Reno 8 Pro: Battery and Charging
A 4,500mAh battery powers the OPPO Reno 8 Pro and it has support for an 80W wired fast charge. In comparison, a 4,410mAh powers the Google Pixel 6a, and it has support for an 18W wired fast charge. None of these phones have support for a wireless charge.
The OPPO Reno 8 Pro can reverse charge but the Pixel 6a can not. It’ll also take you less time to fully charge the Reno8 Pro from 0 to 100%. But, the Pixel 6a has a slightly longer-lasting battery because there is no high refresh rate to drain the battery.

The price of the Google Pixel 6a starts at $449 and it comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. In comparison, the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage version of the OPPO Reno 8 Pro is sold for $559 (but you can buy it for $499 using the link in the table below). From the price, the OPPO Reno 8 Pro is more expensive than the Pixel 6a and also has more RAM.
