When it comes to their pricing, the Samsung Galaxy A55 is cheaper than the Google Pixel 8A. To be clear, the Galaxy A55 base variant of 8/128 GB storage is currently selling on Amazon for $365. While currently on Amazon, the Google Pixel 8A is priced at $499 for the 8/128 GB storage version.

2. Design, Display & Durability

The front designs of these two phones are identical. Dot-in display, rounded frames, and flat panels. But the rear designs are quite different as the Google Pixel 8A has a horizontal back camera design as opposed to the vertical arrangement of the Samsung Galaxy A55. Now let’s talk about their speed and overall performance. The Google Pixel 8A is powered by a flagship chipset- the Tensor G3 5G SoC. It’s almost identical to the original standard powering the flagship Pixel 8 Pro but was undercooked here in some way. Even at that, it is faster than the Exynos 1480 chip powering the Samsung Galaxy A55. Overall, the Google Pixel 8A has the best performance.

Both smartphones can record video in 4K resolution using the rear and front cameras. They have sharp images, and vivid colors, and are better at night photography. But if I had to go with one of them, I’d choose the Google Pixel 8A because it’s more reliable.

5. Software Plans

Google Pixel 8A vs Samsung Galaxy A55 has great software plans. They both run Android 14 OS out of the box. But when it comes to years of support, the Google Pixel 8A is still ahead. It promises 7 years of software updates as opposed to the 4 years of Samsung Galaxy A55.

The Samsung Galaxy A55 offers a good deal right now. For its quality, you get it around $365 on Amazon right now which is a great deal. But for software support, performance, camera, and how compactable, the Google Pixel 8A is a top choice.
