Huawei P50 Series with HarmonyOS: News and rumors about Huawei, HarmonyOS and Android OS has been flying around for a while. But, it seems Huawei is finally letting go of Android and bringing its own ecosystem to live by powering the incoming Huawei P50 series with the HarmonyOS.

According to a post by a now deleted account on Weibo, Huawei P50 has completed the testing period of running HarmonyOS 2.0 Beta 2 and is moving on to Beta 3. If this is true, it means the new Huawei flagship will run HarmonyOS out of the Box.

True, the Huawei P50 series won’t be the first Huawei phone that can run HarmonyOS. But it will be the first Huawei phone to have HarmonyOS pre-installed when been released. Although some older Hauwei Flagship device can use the HarmonyOs, they all launched with Android OS.

Huawei AppGallery reportedly now have more than 530 million users and about 2.3 million developers. For existing phones with Android OS, Huawei is expecting mass migration to the HarmonyOS by April.

The execuitves of the Chinese tech company expect Harmony OS to power about 300-400 million devices by the end of the year ( this includes smart TVs, smart watches and Internet of Things gadgets).

On the one hand Huawei is trying to get into the good books of the United States. While on the other hand, they are also working to keep the Huawei ecosystem alive. One can only wonder where the road leads to now for the company.
