Chipset and Processor

Huawei used the Hisilicon Kirin 710F (12 nm) chipset in the Huawei Y9s while Xiaomi used the Mediatek Helio G90T (12nm). Both chipset runs on same nano-meter(nm) and they are good for the phones. But the differences comes in the GPU and CPU details of both phones. The Redmi phone uses a more advance GPU which is the Mali-G76 MC4 while the Huawei phone uses an older GPU which is the Mali-G51 MP4.

Another key difference is the CPU used in both phones. You see, the Redmi Note 8 pro uses a more recent CPU. While the Huawei Y9s uses Octa-core (4×2.2 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4×1.7 GHz Cortex-A53), Redmi Note 8 Pro uses Octa-core (2×2.05 GHz Cortex-A76 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55). There is no doubt that the Redmi Note 8 pro still maintains its excellent record of been the best affordable mid-range phone of 2019. From its build, display, camera, RAM, chipset, CPU and battery its a better phone to buy. However Huawei Y9s is a more pocket friendly phone. It is less expensive when compare with the 128GB internal storage variant of Redmi Note 8 pro.
