The Infinix Note 12 Pro could be the first smartphone to use the MediaTek helio G99 chipset. The midrange chipset was introduced in May 2022 alongside the Dimensity 1050 and Dimensity 930 chipsets.

Infinix has only teased via its tweet that the world’s first MediaTek helio G99 powered phone will be a part of the Note 12 series. This we suspected could be the Note 12 Pro since the company has already released a Note 12 VIP, a Note 12 G96 and a Note 12 G88 phone.

The MediaTek helio G99 chip does not support 5G. This means the forthcoming Infinix Note 12 Pro or whatsoever Infinix will call the Note 12 device will support only 4G LTE.

Here’s a little detail about the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset an improvement of the LTE-only Helio G96, built on the 6nm platform, instead of 12nm. It has an octa-core processor and support for an FHD+ display with up to a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a pair of Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six A55 cores up to 2.0GHz. However, its GPU is only a Mali-G57 MC2, a clear downgrade from the G76 MC4 that came with its last two-generation (Helio G95). Although the camera can support up to 108MP sensor.
