Display, Build, and Design

Both the Infinix Note 12 VIP and Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G have a 6.7-inches display, the same AMOLED panel, the same 120Hz refresh rate, and the same FHD+ resolution. But, the screen of the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G is brighter under sunlight.

The front screen of both smartphones has the same punch-hole that houses the selfie camera. But, the back panel designs of both smartphones are very different. The camera module of the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G is placed vertically while that of the Infinix Note 12 VIP runs horizontally across the upper part of the back panel.

The build materials on both phones are the same. Both smartphones have a Glass front (Gorilla Glass), plastic frame, and plastic back. The advantage of the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G is that it is certified to have an IP53 splash and dust resistance feature. Overall, there is little to no difference between the display and build of both smartphones.

The Infinix Note 12 VIP and Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G feature a triple rear camera set-up and a single front camera. Both smartphones have a 108MP primary camera, the same 16MP selfie camera, and the same 2MP macro lens. The only differences in the cameras of both phones are that the Infinix Note 12 VIP has a 13MP ultra-wide lens and its primary camera has a Laser Af feature. While the Redmi Note 11 Pro has an 8MP ultra-wide lens and its primary camera does not have the Laser AF feature.

The camera features and sensors inside the Infinix Note 12 VIP and Redmi Note 11 Pro are very similar. But, the Infinix Note 12 VIP is better at night photography and is fast at focusing on objects thanks to the Laser AF feature. Photos from the Infinix Note 12 VIP are also a little sharper than those from the Redmi Note 11 Pro.

Performance | Storage | RAM | 5G

The Infinix Note 12 VIP supports 4G network connectivity while the Redmi Note 11 Pro has support for 5G. The performance of both smartphones is also different because both phones have different chipsets inside.

Inside the Infinix Note 12 VIP is the MediaTek Helio G96 chipset while inside the Redmi Note 11 Pro is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chipset. The Helio G96 chipset is a good 4G chipset but it’s not as good as the Snapdragon 695 5G chipset. The Snapdragon 695 5G chip has slightly faster CPU cores and a more powerful GPU. So, when it comes to playing games and rendering graphics, the Redmi Note 11 Pro is a little better than the Infinix Note 12 VIP.

The RAM inside the Infinix Note 12 VIP is 8GB and it’s paired with 128/256GB of storage. The RAM inside the Redmi Note 11 Pro is 6/8GB and the storage options are 64/128GB. Both smartphones have room for storage expansion via a microSD card slot.

Software

The Infinix Note 12 VIP boots XOS 10.6 based on Android 12 out of the box and it’s guaranteed to get an Android 13 update. The Redmi Note 11 Pro boots MIUI 13 based on Android 11 out of the box. Xiaomi is promising two years of major software updates and years of monthly security patches for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro.

So, on the software front, the Redmi Note 11 Pro is still better. While the Infinix Note 12 VIP might stop getting major software updates after one year, the Redmi Note 11 will get at least two years of major software updates.

Battery

Infinix Note 12 VIP is powered by a 4,500mAh battery while the Redmi Note 11 Pro is powered by a 5,000mAh battery. The Infinix Note 12 VIP supports a 120W fast charge while the Redmi Note 11 Pro supports a 67W fast charge solution.

The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G has support for a 5G network, has a better chipset, and offers better battery life. While the Infinix Note 12 VIP has a brighter camera and faster charge technology, it does not have the next-gen network connectivity. Its chipset is not as powerful as the chipset inside the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G.
