Display, Build, and Design
The Galaxy A53 5G comes with a 6.52-inches AMOLED display with support for a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. While the Infinix Note 12 VIP comes with a bigger 6.7-inches, the same AMOLED display, the same 120Hz refresh rate, and the same FHD+ resolution.
The front design of both phones is the same. There is a punch-hole on the top screen that houses the selfie camera, the front screen is flat, and it has small bezels. But, the back panel designs of both smartphones are very different. The camera module of the Galaxy A53 5G is placed vertically and houses four camera sensors while that of the Infinix Note 12 VIP runs horizontally across the upper part of the back panel and houses three camera sensors.
The build materials on both phones are the same. Both phones have a Glass front (Gorilla Glass), plastic frame, and plastic back. But only the Galaxy A53 5G is certified to have IP67 water and dust resistance feature.

The Infinix Note 12 VIP features a triple rear camera set-up and a single front camera. It has a 108MP primary camera with a Laser AF feature. The primary camera is supported by a 13MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro lens, and the front has a 16MP front camera.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G has quad rear cameras and a single front camera. At the rear, it has a 64MP primary camera with PDAF and OIS features. The primary camera is supported by a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 5MP macro lens. On the front, it has a 32MP front camera that can shoot steady videos in 4k resolution.
The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is the better camera smartphone here. Although the Infinix Note 12 VIP has a big 108MP primary camera sensor, it can’t shoot videos in 4k resolution and does not have stabilization features such as OIS. The Infinix Note 12 VIP boots XOS 10.6 based on Android 12 out of the box and it’s guaranteed to get an Android 13 update. The Galaxy A53 5G boots One UI 4.0 based on Android 12 out of the box. Samsung is promising four years of major software updates and five years of monthly security patches for the Galaxy A53 5G.
So, on the software front, the Galaxy A53 5G is still better. While the Infinix Note 12 VIP might stop getting major software updates after one year, the Galaxy A53 5G will get four years of major software updates.
Battery
Infinix Note 12 VIP is powered by a 4,500mAh battery while the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is powered by a 5,000mAh battery. The Infinix Note 12 VIP has support for a 120W fast charge while the Galaxy A53 5G has support for a 25W fast charge solution.

So, between the Infinix Note 12 VIP and Samsung Galaxy A53 5G which is better? The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is better than the Infinix Note 12 VIP and here is why.
Although the Infinix Note 12 VIP has the same display features and build materials as the Galaxy A53 5G, it falls short in other key areas. When it comes to the camera, the Galaxy A53 5G offers better features and camera sensors. The Galaxy A53 5G is also equipped with a better chipset and has support for 5G but the Note 12 VIP only has support for the 4G network. So, when it comes to gaming, the Galaxy A53 5G gives you a better experience.
Another reason why the Galaxy A53 5G is better than the Infinix Note 12 VIP is that it offers a better software update policy. Four years from now, the Galaxy A53 5G will still be getting a major Android OS update which will still make it a relevant smartphone in the market. The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G also offers IP67 water and dustproof feature which is a feature not available in the Note 12 VIP. But, the Infinix Note 12 VIP is the cheaper smartphone to buy of these two phones.
