MediaTek Dimensity 8050 Specs: MediaTek has quietly released the Dimensity 8050 5G chipset alongside an affordable Dimensity 7050 5G SoC. However, our focus in this post would be on the Dimensity 8050 chipset. The Dimensity 8050 is simply a rebranding of the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 5G Chip that was launched years ago. But since MediaTek is bringing back the old chipset let’s see if there’s anything new.
MediaTek Dimensity 8050 Specs
The MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chipset is built on TSMC’s N6 6nm process. It’s a 5G chipset that supports Dual 5G SIM of Sub-6 GHz. It boasts 1x Arm Cortex-A78 performance cores clocked at 3GHz, 3x Arm Cortex-A78 performance cores clocked at 2.6GHz, and 4x Arm Cortex-A55 power-efficiency cores running at 2.0GHz. The GPU side is covered by the Arm Mali-G77 MC9.
For its RAM and Storage technology, the chipset has support for LPDDR4X (4266Mbps) RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The RAM can get up to 16GB.
Dimensity 8050 chipset supports FHD+ at 165Hz refresh rate. As per connectivity, the chipset supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and sub-6Ghz 5G connectivity. Additionally, it can record video up to 4K resolution.
Infinix Note 30 VIP is the first phone to use the MediaTek Dimensity 8050 5G chipset. But let’s know in the comments section what you think about the chipset. It is old-fashioned anyway.
