And based on our test results in the studio, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is faster than the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus with 6% speed performance. The Dimensity 9200+ is a refreshed version of the Dimensity 9200 chipset that was released in 2022.

Smartphones that are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 are more expensive and you can see some of the best phones using it here. While Dimensity 9200+ phones are slightly more affordable. For now, few devices are using the chipset. The likes of the iQOO Neo 8 Pro.
When it comes to GPU performance, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is spot on with the Adreno 740. And following their peak Geekbench CPU scores, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 beats the Dimensity 9200+ by 6%. The former had 5,556 multi-core points, while the latter scored 5,245 points in multi-core.
In terms of their CPU configuration, both SoCs have octa-core processors with different architectures.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 brings 1 x Cortex-X3 @3.2 GHz.., 2 x Cortex-A715 @2.8 GHz.., 2 x Cortex-A710 @2.8 GHz, and 3 x Cortex-A510 @2.0 GHz. In contrast, the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ is clocked higher at 1 x Cortex-X3 @3.35 GHz.., 3 x Cortex-A715 @3.0 GHz.., and 4 x Cortex-A510 @2.0 GHz.
