It’s been a while since Microsoft released the Microsoft Surface Duo 1 and its just about time the company release the Microsoft Surface Duo 2 as its successor. The surface duo foldable device is the first ever Android based device released by Microsoft. There were lots of expectation for the first model and even the hype still continues for its successor.
Amidst all the rumors, the specifications of the surface duo 2 has surfaced on Geekbench. This new device is expected to come in two colors – white and black – and it’s also expected to have a different camera setup from the last gen.
The geekbench listing also showed that the surface duo 2 is coming with improved hardware and software. This means the device will be on a flagship level and might be a little bit more expensive. Let’s talk about the specifications spotted on geekbench first then the price.
Specifications of Microsoft Surface Duo 2 Spotted On Geekbench
According to the listing on Geekbench, the Surface duo 2 will come with Snapdragon 888 chipset and run Android 11 out of the box. The Microsoft Surface Duo 2 scored 1071 points in the single-core and 3166 points in the multi-core tests in the Geekbench 5 test.
The chipset is paired with the Adreno 660 GPU and will come with 8GB of RAM and at least 256GB of storage. Sadly, the listing from Geekbench did not show the type of display, camera sensor, and more.
But previous leaks suggested that the device will come with a triple rear camera. It might come with a main camera, an ultra-wide angler lens, and a telephoto lens at the rear. The surface duo 2 is expected to offer improved performance and to have support for 5G and NFC. It might also retain same design as the first surface duo.
Microsoft is expected to launch new devices between September and October, maybe the surface duo 2 might be launched within this window. The price of the surface duo 1 was about $1,499 and the surface duo 2 might be more expensive.
