Since the launch of the Motorola Edge X30 which is the first world first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 smartphone, there have been few complaints from users here and there. Motorola had previously rolled out a minor update to address the issues but a new major update is on its way.
One of the many issues that plagued the Moto Edge X30 is performance issues. Where the device gets heated up when under heavy usage. Now, the company is rolling out a new major update with a lots of optimizations.

According to the official Motorola Weibo account, all users of the Motorola Edge X30 should expect a new system update with the firmware version SOSC32.16-49-4 in China. Though the update is termed as major with a long changelog, its size is just 236MB.
The first thing about this new software update is that it brings January 2022 security patch to the Moto Edge X30. This new update also brings Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 performance optimization patches from Qualcomm.

Other optimizations the new updates is bringing are:
- It also arrives with fixes for abnormal power consumption and others
- Improved gaming performance
- Better network performance
- Improved CPU/GPU scheduling
- Better camera performance, charging performance, and screen brightness algorithm etc.
The Motorola Edge X30 is an affordable premium smartphone and is no doubt one of the best smartphones to buy in 2022. But, if it has optimization issues, it’ll be very difficult to recommend. So, it’s a good thing that Motorola is rolling out an update to fix things.
