Motorola Edge X30 has a bigger display of 6.7-inch FHD+ super AMOLED with 144 Hz refresh rate support. The screen is protected by corning gorilla glass 5, however, it lacks IP67/IP68 rating. Which means it can be damage by dust and water penetration.

iPhone 13 Pro on the hand, has a smaller screen but offers more durability. The screen size is 6.1-inch QHD+ OLED with adaptive 120Hz refresh rate enabled. The iPhone 13 Pro screen is brighter and protected by tougher gorilla glass, while also having an IP68 water and dust resistant rating.

In overall, both devices have quality display. However, the Apple iPhone 13 Pro is more compact and durable which gave it an edge over the Motorola Edge X30.

Camera

Motorola Edge X30 has a 50MP OIS main camera, alongside a 50MP ultrawide lens and 2MP depth sensor. While upfront it has 60 MP selfie camera. Both the back and front camera can record video in 4k resolution.

Apple iPhone 13 Pro brings 12MP OIS primary camera, supported by a 12MP ultrawide lens and 12MP telephoto (3x optical zoom) camera. The front facing camera is 12MP. Apple iPhone 13 Pro is more versatile when it comes to camera setup, plus the front and back camera can as well record video in 4k resolution.

Edge X30 is the first Android smartphone in the world to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. It is a 5G SoC that is fabricated on a 4nm node. The performance is 25% better than its predecessor – Snapdragon 888. In terms of configuration, the Motorola Edge X30 is available in 8/12 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB storage. Sadly, the storage can’t be expanded.

While the Apple iPhone 13 Pro is powered by the A15 Bionic chipset (5nm), paired with 6GB RAM and available in 128 GB storage, 256, 512 GB or even 1 TB storage. Thus, even though there’s no space for SD card, you won’t have to worry because there is more storage option for you.

Both smartphones are very fast in terms of there CPU and GPU. Even the AI multi tasking got improved significantly. The only reason I’ll favor the iPhone 13 Pro is because of the flexibility in storage configuration.

Software

The Motorola Edge X30 runs Android 12 out of the box which is a very smooth UI in collabo with the 144 Hz refresh rate support. While Apple iPhone 13 Pro boots iOS 15 software out of the box. The running software on both devices are very cool.

Battery

iPhone 13 Pro is remarkable for its excellent battery management. Even though it has 3,095 mAh battery capacity, it last longer than most Android smartphones with 5,000 mAh battery size. I’m impressed with the Motorola Edge X30. The price is very affordable and it offers value. However, the iPhone 13 Pro is better in certain areas such as: camera, durability and performance.

So if I’m to score both smartphones by percentage. I’ll score the Motorola Edge X30 (46%) while the iPhone 13 Pro gets (54%).
