In fact, it is actually better than you might have imagined. From its camera to the chipset to its battery and price, the Moto X30 Pro is one of the most affordable premium phones you can buy in 2022.

The Motorola X30 Pro is currently selling for about $659 in China and for a phone that features a 200MP sensor and a flagship chipset, it’s a very affordable phone. So, in this Motorola Moto X30 Pro Review, I’ll be sharing with you the PROS and CONS of this phone. And maybe then you’ll understand why I said the device is better than you might have imagined. The Motorola Moto X30 Pro has a 6.7-inches OLED display and it has support for 1B colors, 144Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+. The peak brightness of the screen is 1250nit and you can use the device outside under the sunlight. Its 144Hz refresh rate is very smooth and fast. Sliding through different apps and scrolling through the screen is very fluid with no lags when you turn on the 144Hz.

Motorola Moto X30 Pro is made of a Glass front, glass back (Gorilla Glass 5), and an aluminum frame. It has a 91.2% screen-to-body ratio which makes the bezels very slim thanks to the slightly curved screen.

The design of the Moto X30 Pro is very beautiful. Both the front screen and back panel are slightly curved. it has s punch-hole on top of the screen and on the rear, it has this simple camera module placed on the top left corner of the back panel. Its volume rocker and power button are located on the right side of the frame while the USB Type-C port, microphone, and speaker are located at the bottom frame.

The Motorola X30 Pro is a durable device. Its front screen is Gorilla Glass and it also has an aluminum frame. The device is also Splash and dust resistant and the materials used are water repellent coated. So, the phone can survive a few falls and a few water splashes. But, don’t go swimming with the device as its not certified to be waterproof.

Moto X30 Pro Review: Chipset and Performance

The chipset inside the Motorola Moto X30 Pro is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. This is a 5G chipset that is built on TSMC’s 4nm process technology. Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 features the new Cortex-X2 power cores, Cortex-A710 efficiency cores, and the Adreno 730 GPU.

The CPU cores are fast and also very power efficient. According to Motorola, the CPU and GPU are about 30x better than the predecessor when it comes to performance and power efficiency. So, using the highest graphics settings, you can play games with the Moto X30 Pro without issues.

Under heavy use, the Motorola X30 Pro does not get excessively HOT. It does get warm with time but not to the level where you won’t be able to use the phone. The Moto X30 Pro does not also drop frame rates quickly when playing games. It can perform consistently for a long time before it starts dropping frame rates.

On the AnTuTu benchmark test, the Motorola Moto X30 Pro recorded over 1,052,821 scores while on Geekbench its single core score was 1251 and its multi-core score was 4106. These are not the highest scores we’ve recorded in a smartphone in 2022 but these scores are very impressive.

Cameras are important components of a smartphone and if you love taking photos, well you need to see what the Motorola X30 Pro is offering.

The Motorola X30 Pro has three rear cameras and a single front camera. It has a 200MP main camera that has PDAF and OIS features. This main camera is supported by a 12MP telephoto lens with a 2x optical zoom feature, a 50MP ultra-wide lens with an AF feature, and a 60MP front-facing camera. The main camera uses the Samsung ISOCELL HP1 sensor and can click sharp photos.

The 200MP main camera is very good and can take photos that even when you crop into the photo, it also retains its quality. Its edge detection in portrait mode is very good and photos from the main camera are very bright and sharp. The 50MP ultra-wide is also really good, it can focus almost immediately on objects and the quality of photos from the ultra-wide lens is also very impressive.

Another impressive camera sensor is the 60MP front camera. You can record videos in 4K resolution using the front camera and the portrait and night modes are really good. The 12MP telephoto lens is good but not as bright and sharp as the other cameras. Overall, the Motorola X30 Pro is a very good camera phone.

Moto X30 Pro Review: RAM, Storage, and Software

The Moto X30 Pro has 8GB or 12GB of RAM options. These RAM options are paired with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of internal storage. It has no space for storage expansion via a microSD card slot. So, you have to make use of the internal storage and any cloud storage service you have available.

Motorola X30 Pro boots MYUI 4.0 based on Android 12 out of the box. This phone will get at least three years of major software updates and four years of monthly security patches. You can download and install apps from the Google Play Store. The user interface of the software is also very neat and the animations of the MYUI 4.0 are really cool.

For heavy users, a full charge of this phone can take you for more than 8 hours. While for light users, you’ll comfortably get more than 24 hours of use when you fully charge the Moto X30 Pro. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is power efficient and draws less power from the battery every time the phone is used.

The review of the Motorola X30 Pro has shown that the device is actually more than just a camera phone. It is even better than what most people have imagined.

Motorola Moto X30 Pro has very good cameras, a powerful chipset, a long-lasting battery, a smooth and fast display, fast charging, wireless charging, beautiful design, and is affordable. There is currently no phone that comes with 125W fast charging, a premium chipset, and a 200MP sensor that is sold for $649. Sadly, the phone is not waterproof, has no 3.5mm headphone jack port, and has no microSD card slot.

So many people thought the Moto X30 Pro is only good for its 200MP camera. Well, this is because the company is using the 200MP to promote the device. But, this Motorola Moto X30 Pro Review has shown that the device is actually better than you might have imagined.
