New Motorola Flagship Phone in works, Might be coming to Africa in 2021

If you are living in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, Uganda and other African countries, chances are it’s been a while you saw and maybe used a Motorola phone. Well, the narrative might just change come 2020.

It appears that Motorola is making a flagship smartphone that is powered by the newly released Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. And this phone could be coming to Africa when it debut.

According to the guys at 91Mobiles, an executive if Motorola posted the retail box of this mystery phone in Weibo, showing the smartphone is almost ready for launch. We don’t know the name of the device yet but we won’t have to wait too long as Motorola is expected to launch a device between January and March 2021.

We already have news that Motorola is working in a smartphone phone with codename Motorola Nio that is powered by Snapdragon 865 chipset. If they are releasing a new device, it means it’ll be the second premium phone from Motorola.

Currently, there is little information about the Motorola Snapdragon 888 phone with regards to its specifications. But a phone powered with such premium SoC will likely have at minimum 120Hz refresh rate AMOLED panel.

Other specs could include battery capacity up to 5000mAh, fast charge, reverse wireless charge, under display fingerprint scanner and maybe 3.5mm jack. Using the newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset will also make it possible for Motorola to provide longer software updates for the device.

In the camera features, the phone can use up to 108MP with the use of the Snapdragon 888 chipset. It can also support up to four cameras, can record 4K and 8K videos with lots of other features.

And this phone might just be coming to African countries. Although we don’t have news regarding the price just yet. But we don’t expect it to be on the lower side.
