Xiaomi is among the first OEMs that will use the newly released Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 5G mobile platform from Qualcomm in its smartphone. One of the first Xiaomi phones that will feature this new chipset is the Redmi K60 series. And a new render of the phone has suggested that the incoming phone will have a Symmetrical bezel front screen.

For those who don’t know, Redmi phones are the more affordable versions of top-end flagship phones from Xiaomi. Last year, the Xiaomi 12 series have the same chipset as the Redmi K50 series but the Redmi K50 series was about $300 cheaper. So, we expect the trend to continue this year for the incoming Redmi K60 series. But how could the incoming Redmi phone have Symmetrical bezels?
For those who don’t know, Symmetrical bezels are when the bezels on the sides and the chin of the phone are the same widths. According to the new renders of the phone leaked online, the incoming Redmi phone has symmetrical bezels and this means the bezels on the side of the phone are the same. Phones like the Nothing Phone 1 also have the same type of bezel.

This type of bezel is also possible with the use of an OLED (AMOLED panel) which confirms previous reports that the phone will have an OLED display panel. The Redmi K60 series might have four different phones that will feature different chipsets. For context, the Redmi K50 series was made of the Redmi K50, the Redmi K50 Pro, the Redmi K50 Gaming, and the Redmi K50 Ultra. The ultra is the most premium of the K50 series.
So, multiple reports have suggested that the most premium model of the Redmi K60 series will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. We can also other chipsets like the Dimensity 8200, Dimensity 9200, and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset to power other models of the K60 series.

The Redmi K60 series is expected to debut in December in China and might make its way to Europe and the Global market under the POCO branding. As for the price, we expect the price of the most premium model to start at $699 while the price of the vanilla model might start from $499.
