5G aside, the device is coming with a ZEISS branded camera which will help improve the quality of photos and videos. With that said, allow me to introduce you to the Nokia X20.
About Nokia X20
Nokia X20 is a mid-range 5G smartphone from HMD Global. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and it’ll cost you about $450 to purchase (might be as expensive as $600 in some region).

With its price, I won’t say it’s among the most affordable 5G smartphones out in the market. There are other 5G smartphones that are cheaper for example, the Galaxy A52 5G and Redmi Note 10 5G.
To know more about this device, you need to know its key specs. Let’s start from the chipset, CPU, and GPU.
Chipset, CPU and GPU
The chipset inside the Nokia X20 is Snapdragon 480 5G. This is an affordable 5G chipset manufactured by Qualcomm. It was built on 8nm process and while it’s a good chipset, there are other chipset that performs better.

While the chipset might not be a heavy performer, you’ll enjoy the device not getting heated up. It’s Octa-core CPU is clocked at 2.0GHz paired with the Adreno 619 GPU.
So, with this chipset, you’re getting 5G connectivity but it won’t be that great when playing heavy games. And doing multi tasking might not be so smooth.
Bottom line is, if you really want to enjoy using the chipset, CPU, and GPU of the device, you might want to limit the number of heavy games and multi tasking.
Cameras
There is a quad rear camera for this device. A 64MP main camera, 5MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor. Upfront is a 32MP camera placed in the top center punch hole of the front screen.

Sadly, there is no special feature coming with the cameras of the device. There is no OIS, no gyro-EIS, and no zoom feature. The device can only record 1080p video.
While the camera features would have added to the swag of the device, but not all phone users actually make use of them. So, for an average user, they won’t even notice these features missing.
Point is, if you need a device with Pro camera features, you might want to skip buying this smartphone. And maybe the Redmi Note 10 Pro or Vivo V21 will be a good alternative.
Display and Build
The device comes with 6.67-inch FHD+ IPS display without higher refresh rate. At a time when smartphones are coming with 90Hz, HMD Global decided to not include it in Nokia X20.

For its build material, the device has Glass front, plastic back, and plastic frame – typical mid-range materials. There is no water, dust, scratch, or splash resistant ratings for this device. So, you might want to use protective case and glass for the device.
Although the design of the device looks really good but that is all there is to it. It’s just beautiful but lacks key display features for you to actually enjoy using the display.
RAM, Storage and Battery
Nokia X20 comes in two models – 6GB RAM + 128GB of storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB of storage. You also get to enjoy storage expansion via microSD card.

The battery capacity is non-removable 4,470mAh with 18W fast charge. HMD Global is claiming two days of battery use.
Well I say that depends on who is using the device and what it’s been used for. I mean, 4,470mAh is not that big to last for two days when in 5G mode and playing online games.
Software and Connectivity
Nokia X20 runs Android 11 out of box along with Nokia’s own skin software. According to HMD Global, they’ll be providing three years of security updates every month. But, there is no news of major software update which means you’re stuck with Android 11 forever.
For connectivity, you get the following; 5G, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB Type C.
