The short answer to the question above is NO. I compared the specifications of the Vivo X90 Pro+ with those of the OnePlus 11 and it’s clear why the Vivo phone is that expensive. OnePlus 11 vs Vivo X90 Pro+: Display, Design, and Durability

The OnePlus 11 has a 6.7-inch AMOLED curved display that supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 120Hz refresh rate while the Vivo X90 Pro+ has a bigger 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display that supports HDR10+, 120Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Vision. Both phones have curved screens but the punch hole is on the top left corner of the screen in the OnePlus 11 while it’s in the top center of the Vivo X90 Pro+.

The display of the Vivo X90 Pro Plus has a peak brightness of 1800 nits while the OnePlus 11 has a peak brightness of 1300 nits – i.e the screen of the Vivo X90 Pro+ is brighter. On the rear, both smartphones also look different but both phones have a similar circular rear camera module. The pictures above best describe the difference in design between the OnePlus 11 and Vivo X90 Pro Plus.

As for durability, both smartphones are made of Glass fronts, glass back (Gorilla Glass), and aluminum frames but only the Vivo X90 Pro+ is certified to be IP68 dust/water resistant (up to 1.5m for 30 mins). The display of both smartphones is protected by Gorilla Glass. The OnePlus 11 weighs about 205 g (7.23 oz) while the Vivo X90 Pro+ weighs about 221 g (7.80 oz).

The volume and power buttons are located on the right side of the frame on both phones. None of these phones have microSD card slots and 3.5mm headphone jack ports but both phones have stereo speakers, a microphone, and a USB Type-C port. There is a dedicated slider button on the OnePlus 11 that is not available in the Vivo X90 Pro+.

The Vivo X90 Pro Plus has a better camera system, better camera sensors, more cameras, and more camera features than the OnePlus 11. The 50.3-megapixel Sony IMX 989 main camera of the Vivo X90 Pro+ takes better photos than the 50-megapixel Sony IMX800 main camera of the OnePlus 11.

The Vivo X90 Pro+ also features two telephoto cameras while the OnePlus 11 has just one telephoto camera. Both smartphones have the same 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera but the Vivo X90 Pro+ has a 32-megapixel front camera that can record videos in 4K resolution while the OnePlus 11 has a 16-megapixel front camera than can record videos in 1080p resolution.

The camera features available in the OnePlus 11 are Hasselblad Color Calibration, Auto HDR, gyro-EIS, optical zoom, and OIS. In comparison, the camera features available in the Vivo X90 Pro+ are Zeiss optics, Zeiss T* lens coating, Pixel Shift, Laser AF, OIS, optical zoom, gyro-EIS, and 14-bit RAW video. The OnePlus 11 is a good camera phone but the Vivo X90 Pro+ is a better camera phone.

OnePlus 11 vs Vivo X90 Pro+: Chipset, Performance & Storage

The performance of the OnePlus 11 and Vivo X90 Pro+ is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and this means that the performance of both smartphones is very similar. This is because both smartphones have the same CPU cores and GPU. Also, the ISP, AI engine, 5G MODEM, RAM and Storage technology, etc on both smartphones are the same. The storage options available on both smartphones are different. The storage options available in the Vivo X90 Pro Plus are 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB storage while the storage options available in the OnePlus 11 are 12GB RAM + 256GB, 16GB RAM + 256GB, and 16GB RAM + 512GB storage. None of these phones have space for storage expansion via a microSD card slot.

The OnePlus 11 boots ColorOS 13 based on Android 13 out of the box while the Vivo X90 Pro Plus boots Origin OS 3 based on Android 13 out of the box. Both smartphones are expected to get three years of major software updates and security patches. The UI, icons, settings, navigation, etc on both smartphones are different. The Vivo X90 Pro Plus is better than the OnePlus 11 in many ways. The Vivo X90 Pro+ has a brighter display, a better camera system, is more durable, and has wireless charging. Granted, the OnePlus 11 is cheaper but it’s not a true flagship phone as it misses out on some of the key features found in a premium smartphone.

I’ll recommend that you buy the Vivo X90 Pro+ if you have the money. But if you’re on a tight budget, I’ll recommend the Vivo X90 Pro and iQOO 11 ahead of the OnePlus 11.
