OnePlus phones were usually known for being flagship killers. Here is what we mean. Previous top OnePlus phones come with most flagship features at a very affordable price. But, things were a little bit different with the OnePlus 8 Pro this year. Here is why.

The OnePlus 8 Pro this year was a little close to the $1000 mark. Well, this is because it came with additional features like wireless charging and even IP 68 rating (water-resistant rating). While all the above features above are good, they made the phone more expensive and that is why OnePlus is introducing the OnePlus Nord series.

You see, the OnePlus Nord is coming with the second-best features you can get on a smartphone. Which makes it a premium mid-range smartphone. And it will be placed in the same category as the Apple iPhone SE 2020 and Google Pixel 4a.

Specifications of OnePlus Nord

Build and Display

The phone is coming with a Fluid AMOLED display type of size 6.44-inch which is just okay. Its display is having a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection which is also good. Upfront it has a relatively big punch hole that houses the dual selfie camera.

When it comes to its build materials, there is a front glass, back glass, and plastic frame that seems more like metal.

Overall, the phone has that premium feel and it looks neat. So, the phone might make a good first impression on you.

Chipset, RAM, and Internal Storage

OnePlus have always powered most of its phones with a Qualcomm SOC. And the Nord is powered by the Qualcomm SDM765 Snapdragon 765G (8 nm). This chipset is a very powerful SOC only second to the Snapdragon 865 series in the Qualcomm SOC lineup.

There is an Octa-core (1×2.4 GHz Kryo 475 Prime & 1×2.2 GHz Kryo 475 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 475 Silver) CPU present. It also uses the Adreno 620 GPU. The CPU and GPU are great and should be able to play heavy games without any hassles.

So far, the phone is expected to come in three variants, 6GB RAM and 128GB Internal Storage, 8GB RAM and 128GB Internal Storage, 8GB RAM, and 128GB Internal Storage. The RAM size is big enough to handle all the operations needed. There is no space for a microSD card which means you have to make use of the internal storage.

Camera

OnePlus phones are famous for many things including cameras. It’s not like they have the best cameras but they offer some good camera qualities.

This phone is expected to have a quad 64 MP + 8 MP + 5 MP + 2 MP rear cameras. A main camera, ultrawide, depth sensor, and macro lens respectively.

Camera features like OIS, gyro-EIS, and HDR are enabled. From live tests, the camera quality is just okay and good for the money. Although the extra depth sensor and the macro lens seem to be useless but the camera setup added to the beauty of the phone.

Upfront, the phone might come with a 32 MP + 8 MP dual selfie camera placed in a punch hole at the top left of the screen. Which makes the phone looks very pretty good.
