OnePlus 9 display is the industry standard for flagship devices. It has 6.55″ fluid AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

While OnePlus Nord 2 has a similar fluid AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution but 90Hz refresh rate. The display size is 6.4-inches which is compact and comfortable to hold in your hand.

Overall, while both displays share similar features. However, the OnePlus 9 has a higher refresh rate and higher Max nit brightness.

When it comes to camera, the OnePlus Nord 2 has a flagship level quality. It has 50MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro. While upfront it has 32MP selfie camera. The 50 MP main sensor has Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Digital Overlap HDR (DOL-HDR).

When compared to OnePlus 9 with 48MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide, and 2MP monochrome, both smartphones camera are at par.

However, the OnePlus 9 has Hasselblad feature that helps to fine-tune the color grading and overall photography experience.

OnePlus 9 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chip. The best android chipset in the market. Paired with 8/12 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of internal storage.

OnePlus Nord 2 on the other hand is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. Paired with 8/12 GB of RAM and 256 GB storage.

OnePlus 9 is a true flagship device. The Snapdragon 888 chip is better than the Mediatek Dimensity 1200 in terms of performance.

Software wise, both smartphones run Android 11 out of the box. And at least, 2 years major OS update is sure for both smartphones.

OnePlus 9 is more expensive which is not surprising because it is a flagship smartphone. OnePlus 9 price starts at $589. While the Nord 2 goes for $450.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G vs OnePlus 9: Conclusion

OnePlus 9 is better overall. Especially in terms of performance. With the presence of the Snapdragon 888 chipset, it is miles ahead. But, the OnePlus Nord 2 is still a good alternative for those who can’t afford the OnePlus 9.

So if I’m to score both smartphones by percentage. I’ll score the OnePlus Nord 2 (47%) while the OnePlus 9 gets (53%)
