Affordable 5G devices is the main reason why OnePlus made it to the top 5 most popular smartphone manufacturers in Europe. And as the work on bringing OnePlus Nord CE 5G to Europe, it also has plans for its US and Canada customers.

According to OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau, the phone maker is planning on bringing a 5G device that is exclusive to the US and Canada. Better still, it will be among the most affordable 5G device to debut.

OnePlus Nord N200 5G will be an affordable 5G device

From his conversation with TechRadar ahead of next month’s event, Pete Lau said that the OnePlus Nord N200 5G – a new budget OnePlus Smartphone- will be released in the US and Canada.

We don’t know the actual price of this incoming Nord N200 5G but if you are familiar with OnePlus, their pricing can be quite competitive. The Nord N100 was loved by many due to the fact that it offer so much at an affordable price.

The starting price of the Nord N100 is $179 in the US and the price of the incoming Nord N200 5G won’t be too far North. Lau himself says the Nord N200 5G will be “one of the most affordable 5G smartphones available in the North American market.”

However, the announcement of the Nord N200 5G is still a little further. It won’t like debut alongside the Nord CE 5G scheduled for June 10. Maybe it will be announced alongside the Nord 2.

Aside from these, no much information is available about the Nord N200 5G. But the fact that it’s 5G gives room for some speculations. Maybe it will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G chipset – or maybe a MediaTek Dimensity chipset.

If OnePlus hope to keep the price on the budget level, then they’ll definitely opt for a chipset in the above category.

It will come with all the basics of smartphones; a triple rear camera setup. Fingerprint scanner (rear or side mounted), IPS LCD display – maybe with 90Hz refresh rate, and big battery – 4,500mAh or above.

Nothing is confirmed yet, so you’ll still have to wait to see the full official specs of the Nord N200 5G.
