After launching the OPPO Reno 8 series in China last week, OPPO just announced the OPPO A77 5G. This phone will be the successor to the OPPO A77 released back in May 2017. And as the successor, the A77 5G is coming with a new design and better specifications.
Talking about specifications, the OPPO A77 5G has a 6.56-inches HD+ IPS LCD display with support for a 90Hz refresh rate and 600 nits peak brightness. The screen has a notch that houses the 8MP selfie camera (the A77 featured a 16MP selfie camera). The rear panel of the A77 5G flaunts the Oppo Glow design, which the OPPO says makes it scratch and wear-resistant.
OPPO A77 5G features the Dimensity 810 5G chipset from MediaTek paired with 6GB of RAM and 12GB of internal storage. The RAM can be virtually extended up to 5GB. You also get a space for storage expansion via a microSD card slot.
On the rear, the phone comes with a 48MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The camera does not have an OIS stabilization feature and can only shoot videos in 1080p resolution.
OPPO A77 5G boots ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12 out of the box. This phone is expected to get at least two years of major software updates from OPPO. The phone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for a 33W fast charge. You can charge the battery from 0 to 100% in about 70 minutes.
Other specs of the OPPO A77 5G include IPX4 water resistance, NFC, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and stereo speakers for a dual-channel surround sound experience.
