OPPO Find N Review: The OPPO Find N is the most planned foldable smartphone when it comes to its size. Unlike the vivo X Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 3 which are very tall, the Find N has a display size of a regular smartphone even though it’s a foldable phone. This makes it easier to use the outer display as a regular phone.
Using the OPPO Find N shows that the OPPO team put a lot of thought into designing and building this foldable phone. But aside from the size and build, the Find N foldable phone also packs some really impressive features. So, in this OPPO Find N review, I’ll be showing you all the specs, the good stuff, and the areas the company needs to work on.

Display, Design, and Build
The unfolded display of the OPPO Find N is 7.1-inches, it has an AMOLED panel, 1792 x 1920 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+. When folded, the phone has a 5.49-inches display, the same AMOLED panel, the same 120Hz refresh rate, and a 988 x 1972 pixels display resolution.
The 5.49-inch outer display is very usable just like a regular phone. And the inner 7.1-inch display is not too tall. In fact, the OPPO Find N is squared in shape and not rectangular like other foldable phones. This size makes it very easy for users to touch anywhere on the screen without having to stress too much.
Both the outside and inner display of the OPPO Find N have a punch-hole design. The punch-hole houses the selfie cameras for the phone. The rear camera is placed on one half of the phone and when properly turned, can be used as a selfie camera.
The build of the OPPO Find N is a Glass front (Gorilla Glass Victus) when it’s folded, an ultra-thin glass front when it’s unfolded, a glass back (Gorilla Glass Victus), and an aluminum frame. The rear camera module blends into the back frame. The design of the phone is beautiful, the display is very colorful, and the build material is durable. But, the phone is not certified to be IP68 water and dustproof.
Physically, you can’t find any space between the hinges of the phone but it seems water and dust can still slip through. One thing that the company did very well is the minimal grease effect. This phone has the least grease shown when it’s folded and unfolded. It’s almost as if the grease is invisible.
The OPPO Find N has really good camera sensors. It has a 50MP primary camera with multi-directional PDAF and OIS features. It also has a 13MP telephoto lens with PDAF and 2x optical zoom. Then there is a 16MP ultra-wide lens. Both the inner and outer displays have 32MP camera sensors.
All the cameras inside the OPPO Find N are very useful. The 50MP primary camera can shoot steady videos in 4k resolution and the 13MP telephoto lens will help you take photos of objects from distance. The two 32MP cameras on the inner and outer screens are also very useful too.
In addition to night mode, other camera features inside this phone include Dual-LED dual-tone flash, HDR, panorama, gyro-EIS, OIS, optical zoom, and multi-directional PDAF.
Chipset, CPU, and GPU
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chip inside the OPPO Find N makes it a very good performing foldable smartphone. This chipset features an octa-core CPU that has a 1x Kryo 680 core with a speed clocked at 2.84GHz. The CPU also has 4x efficiency Kryo 680 cores to help cool down the temperature of the chipset when under heavy use.
The GPU inside the chipset is the Adreno 660. This GPU is very powerful and paired with the octa-core CPU, playing graphics-intensive games becomes very smooth without any lags. The Snapdragon 888 5G chipset also features a powerful ISP and AI.
The chipset inside the OPPO Find N is very powerful and can perform all the tasks you throw its way. But, it seems it’s not properly optimized like when the chip is used inside a regular smartphone. This makes its performance a little less impressive when compared with regular smartphones using the same chipset. But overall, the experience using the Snapdragon 888 5G chipset inside the Find N is really good.
RAM and Storage
The OPPO Find N comes in two storage configurations. It comes with 8 + 256GB and 12 + 512GB of storage. There is no room for storage expansion via a microSD card. Aside from not having room for a microSD card, the phone does not also have the 3.5mm jack port but features stereo speakers.
OPPO Find N is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with support for a 33W fast charge. You can charge this device from 0 to 100% in about 70 minutes. Other charging features are Fast wireless charging 15W and 10W Reverse wireless charging.
Depending on usage, the battery of the OPPO Find N can easily carry you for a day. The auto-refresh feature of the display also saves battery and keeps the display at a low refresh rate when the display is not in use.
The OPPO Find N boots ColorOS 12 based on Android 11 out of the box. OPPO is promising three years of major software updates and four years of monthly security patches for this phone. This phone also has support for Google Mobile Services and you can download software updates, apps, and games from the Google Play Store.
Using the OPPO Find N shows the software experience of the phone is not that great. In most cases, the multi-tasking with the unfolded screen is not properly done. In some cases, you can’t open an app and use the different features of the apps on the unfolded screen. But, this is something a good software update can fix and I hope OPPO rolls out a software update to fix the multi-tasking issue.
Other sensor features are Fingerprint (side-mounted), Google Assistant, GPS, proximity sensor, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi Direct, Infrared, etc. The available colors of the OPPO Find N are Black, white, and purple.
OPPO Find N Review: Conclusion
The review of the OPPO Find N shows that it’s a good foldable phone to buy in 2022. It has a very good unique size, very good cameras, fantastic display quality, long-lasting battery, good performing chipset, and very beautiful design. But it’s not all perfect and there are at least two areas for the company to work on.
From the OPPO Find N review, you can clearly see that it’s a well-planned foldable smartphone. While there are so many things that are well planned out on this phone (especially the size) it still falls short in at least two areas. One, its software needs to be optimized to enjoy the multitasking feature with the foldable display. Two, it lacks water and dustproof certification which brings to question its durability.
