OPPO has officially come out to confirm that the Find X7 will use a 1-inch Sony LYT-900 sensor. According to the info we have at hand, the Sony LYT-900 sensor is 16.384 mm in diagonal with 50 MP, each being 1.6 μm big. What are the advantages of using the 1-inch Sony LYT-900 Sensor?
Advantage of Sony LYT-900 Sensor
1. Consumes Less Power
According to Digital Chat Station, the new sensor in question “Sony LYT-900” is made on a 22 nm node (instead of 40 nm of the IMX989). This means the LYT-900 sensor will consume less power.
2. Clearer Photos
The OPPO Find X7 will be the first smartphone to use the new 1-inch Sony LYT-900 sensor. The sensor will bring Dual Conversion Gain, which is an automatic adjustment between high-gain and low-gain modes based on ambient light changes. This will result in clearer photos.
3. Realistic Colors
Aside from taking less power and dominating the crisp image segment, the sensor is expected to offer more realistic colors. According to OPPO, the Find X7 smartphone will bring advanced processing, increased light sensitivity and clarity of the image, and a broader dynamic range, all of these promising users an “unparalleled photography experience”.
