We’ve seen lots of camera options and OPPO is adding its own. For example, there is the motorized pop up camera found on OnePlus smartphones . There is also the flip camera found on the Asus Zenfone. OPPO is bringing something new to the board.

In a new teaser video released by Oppo Nigeria on Instagram, the company teased a smartphone with a retractable back camera. Unlike pop up cameras, instead of pop up and down, the rear camera pops out from the rear and retracts back.

This new camera tech has some display features related to pop up cameras. It pops out when you open the camera app and retracts in when you close the camera app.

During fall, the rear camera automatically retracts so as not to damage the sensor of the camera. All these features is closely related to what we’ve seen in the motorized pop camera tech.

According to the company, some new tech will be unveiled in its #OPPOINNODAY2021 to be held on 14th December 2021. Maybe the company might talk more about this new camera tech in this event.

Currently, there is no OPPO phone or any smartphone with this retractable tech teased by Oppo. And we can’t even say if we’ll see this tech in a smartphone anytime soon. Lots of techs have been teased that didn’t actually made it to the spot light.
