The LUMIX S5II and LUMIX S5IIX are the first cameras from Panasonic to use the PDAF or phase detection autofocus technology. Both cameras have a new 24.2MP 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor. So compared to their predecessor, the Panasonic LUMIX S5II and LUMIX S5IIX have better autofocus systems.
One advantage of getting either of these cameras is the built-in fan and heat sink technology that helps to keep the cameras cool when recording videos. In other words, the LUMIX S5II and LUMIX S5IIX can record 4K videos non-stop without having any serious heating issues. And you have the option of recording either 6K 10-bit 4:2:0 or 4K 10-bit 4:2:2.
Other features include a new image stabilization system, consisting of 5-axis Body IS and 2-axis lens-based OIS. USB-C charging, full-sized HDMI port, dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, 48kHz/24-bit internal microphone recording and 96kHz/24-bit with external microphone, 3680K dot OLED viewfinder, 3.0-inch fully articulating 1840K dot touchscreen, etc.
