Infinix Mobile recently released a new addition to the Hit series and its the Infinix Hot 8 series. The new device from Infinix mobile is referred to as big and bold and for good reasons. In this article we'll be giving you detailed review about the the Infinix Hot 8.

It is important to note that the Infinix hot 8 is a mid-range device from the company. It featured a bigger screen size and comes with a processor that suites the device perfectly. We'll be giving this review from each features of the new phone. lets get started with the phone's body and display.

Infinix Hot 8 Body And Display

The phone has a dimension of approximately 165 x 76.3 x 8.7 mm (6.50 x 3.00 x 0.34 in) and its build is glass back and front. It weighs about 180g and it uses dual Nano SIM. The display type of the phone is IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors.

The screen size is 6.52 inches and its resolution is about 720 x 1600 pixels, 20:9 ratio (~269 ppi density). This has to be the biggest screen size in the hot series.

See Also: Now in Stores: Infinix Hot 8 is Now Available for Purchase in NigeriaSee Also: Gionee X2 Price in Nigeria and Specs: “Simple and Affordable”See Also: Samsung Galaxy A10s Price in Nigeria and SpecsSee Also: Samsung Galaxy A50s Quick Review

For game and movie lovers the screen size is just perfect. For a mid-range device, the body and display of the device is not bad at all.

Infinix Hot 8 Software and Internal Storage

Most people will agree that maybe its time that infinix start using the Snapdragon chipset when it comes to its mid-range devices. But infinix still decides to stick with the Mediatek chipset. This is quite disappointing but it seems that most Infinix lovers are getting use to the mediatek chipset.

The phone is powered by the latest Android 9.0 (Pie) OS with infinix own UI XOS 5.0. The phones comes in two variant; the 32GB 2GB RAM and 64GB 4GB RAM. This new infinix runs on two different chipset according to its variant. The Mediatek MT6761 Helio A22 (12 nm) - 32/2 GB and the Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 (12 nm) - 64/4 GB.

Infinix Hot 8 Cameras

The phone is powered by three cameras(triple cameras) at the back. It is powered by a 13 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), 1/3.1", 1.12µm, PDAF; 2 MP, depth sensor and a QVGA (Low light sensor). Well this is not coming as a surprise as the Hot series is not a camera phone. But given the triple camera, one can say that the phone will do quite in standard picture.

The front camera is a single camera that is 8 MP, f/2.0, 25mm (wide). In truth, this is low as the likes of Tecno and Xiaomi are pumping in more power into its cameras. We hope the new Infinix Zero series will do better in terms of camera.

Infinix Hot 8 Battery

The best part of this new phone surely has to be its battery. Infinix hot 8 is powered by a Non-removable Li-Po 5000 mAh battery. This is a good one for phone users that plays lots of games, music and watch movies.

With this battery capacity, we estimated that the new device talk time should be more that 36 hours and music play time should be above 90 hours. Simply put, you can use this phone for a very long time before you think about charging it.

Conclusion and Recommendation

The infinix hot 8 does not have all the things you might require as a phone user. But we recommend that if you are a game lover then you should buy this device. Reason because, its screen is wide enough to accommodate almost any game. Its CPU and GPU is fast enough to process heavy duty games. Lastly its RAM and ROM sizes are okay to take on lots of games and movies.

However, if you are picture freak and selfie lover this might not be the phone for you. The infinix hot 8 picture quality is good but it has its limitations. Here is a quick wrap of the review, please feel free to tell us what you think about this new device in the comment section below.
