Google has officially unveiled the long awaited Google Pixel 6 in its Pixel Fall event today. And the new Pixel brings some really big upgrades over previous Pixel phones. It’s coming with improved design, new camera hardware, Google’s own SoC and many more.

For the many improvements coming with the Pixel 6, one might expect the price to be way higher than its predecessors. Well Google has decided to shock some persons.

The starting price of the Google Pixel 6 is $599 and this makes it cheaper than some previous Google Pixel phones even though it has better camera hardware and chipset inside.

Key features of the Google Pixel 6

The Pixel 6 comes with a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with support for 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the phone rock the newly introduced Google Tensor chip paired with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of flash storage.

In the camera segment, the Pixel 6 comes with a 50MP Samsung GN1 sensor. Then there is also a 12MP Sony IMX386 ultra-wide sensor. To enjoy taking photos and videos, Google included some of the following camera features; manual white balance adjustment, Magic Eraser, and Face Unblur.

The phone is now powered by a 4,600mAh battery which is bigger than the 4,080mAh inside the Pixel 5. It now also have support for 30W fast wired charge and 21W fast wireless charging.

Google Pixel 6 is the first Android phone to run Android 12 out of the box and Google has promised three years of Android OS updates and five years of monthly security patches.

Other features of the Pixel 6 include; an under-display fingerprint reader, IP68 dust and water resistance, stereo speakers, ultra-wideband (UWB) support, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.2.

Pricing & Availability

The starting price of the Google Pixel 6 is $599 for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model. It’s available for pre-order starting October 19 and will start shipping on October 28.

The phone will be available from all major US carriers and retailers such as Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Costco, Google Store, and others. Color options include Sorta Seafoam, Kind of Coral, and Stormy Black.
