With the release of the new Mobile Platforms for both Flagship and affordable mid-range phones, QUALCOMM is making the statement that they want everyone to have a 5G enabled phone by 2020. And this can be very possible once android phone manufacturers start making use of these Mobile Platforms.

While we still don’t have an official Mobile Platform that supports 5G network for low entry and low budget smartphones, we believe that its just a matter of time before one is developed.

What this means that, even if you don’t have money to buy flagship devices, you also have the option to get a mid-range device that supports 5G. Snapdragon 765 and 765G are pretty same, only difference is that the 765G is a chipset targeted at gamers. That is, it has more gaming capabilities.

This development is both exciting and at same time sad. Exciting because come 2020 a new Mobile Platform from QUALCOMM that fully supports 5G will be on sale. This means more 5G phones will be in the market. It is sad at same time because not all countries have 5G network presently.

What is the use of getting a 5G phone when you don’t actually have a 5G network? Well for Nigerians they can be a little excited as MTN Nigeria have tested their 5G network in Abuja last week. More updates about 5G network in the country will be unveiled as time goes on.

However, technology is fast growing and QUALCOMM is not waiting behind. Expect more 5G enabled flagship and mid-range phones in 2020. We hope low budget phones also get a taste of the 5G network come 2020.
