The Red Magic 6S Pro is announced with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ at the wheel. It comes in two configurations for the global market: 12/16 GB of RAM and 128/256GB storage options. While Chinese versions come with 8/18 GB of RAM and 128/512GB storage options.
Red Magic 6S Pro has been released in China, and global launch is imminent. The gaming smartphone arrives with improved cooling system and 720 touch sampling rate.
It brings 6.8-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED touchscreen with 165 Hz refresh rate (with 120, 90 and 60 Hz modes). The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.
Sitting at the helm of the Red Magic 6S Pro is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ chipset, that increases the Cortex-X1 based prime CPU core up to 2.995 GHz, from 2.84 GHz in the normal Snapdragon 888 SoC. The processor is paired with 12/16 GB RAM for the global market while Chinese market gets 8/18 GB RAM.
With this powerful chipset and high gaming expectations, Red Magic 6S Pro features the newest ICE 7.0 cooling system. For further heat management, there is also an active fan which spins at 20,000 rpm. The higher fan spinning increases air volume by 30% and air pressure by 35%. Red Magic made sure this device is fitting for proper gaming.
Camera is never the strength of gaming devices. However, the Red Magic 6S Pro has 64MP main camera, 8MP ultrawide lens and a depth sensor. Upfront is an 8MP camera lens. The phone boots RedMagic OS 4.0, which is based on Android 11 software.
The battery capacity of this gaming device is 5,050 mAh with 66W USB-C charger support. However only 30W fast charger is included in the box. Also, there’s a 3.5 mm headphone jack for latency-free audio and bluetooth 5.1 if you want to go wireless.
