Prices | Design | Availability
The Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus is cheaper than the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus. The former was launched in 2021 and it’s currently priced at $319. While the latest Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus has a starting price of $399. Both devices are now available for purchase and you can use the box at the bottom of this post.
These two smartphones come with IP53 certification making them dust-resistant and splash-resistant. Moreover, their front designs are similar- cutout holes in the middle of the display. But the rear designs are different. Additionally, is good to note that the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is both lighter and thinner than the Note 11 Pro+.
When it comes to the display, both smartphones have a few things in common and otherwise. Their sizes are the same: 6.67-OLED with 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. However, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus can show up to one billion colors with Dolby Vision support, and HDR10+ certification.
Now for security, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus has an in-display fingerprint scanner unlike the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. But another thing to bear in mind is that the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ has a brighter display.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ has superior camera systems on paper even though in a real-life scenario, the differences are minimal. It comes with a 200MP higher resolution camera, alongside an 8MP secondary sensor for the ultrawide and a 2MP macro sensor. While the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ uses a 108MP main camera but with similar secondary sensors.
Performance | Software
Xiaomi upgraded the performance. Both smartphones are 5G capable but with different chipsets. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 5G chipset, paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. While the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256 GB storage.
The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ has a microSD card slot for memory expansion, unlike the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus. But the good thing is that both smartphones have dual stereo speakers and a 3.5mm jack available.
Software-wise, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ boots MIUI 13 skin software based on Android 12 out of the box. While the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ booted MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11. Though it can be upgraded to Android 12 now. Moreover, Xiaomi has promised up to 2 years of OS upgrades and 3 years of security patches for all Redmi Note devices.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus comes with a 5,000 mAh battery capacity with a 120W fast charging system. Which is an upgrade over the 4,500 mAh capacity featured on the Redmi Note 11 Pro+. But the charging speed remains the same.

With the Redmi Note 12 Series, Xiaomi was able to offer users the flexibility of choosing the best model that suits their needs- price and specs-wise. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is an upgraded version of its predecessor. It offers a better chipset, improved battery life, and a 200MP camera for those who are interested in it.
