The selling point of all the Tecno Camon series have always been its Camera. But, the Redmi Note series are very popular for many things including having good gaming SOC and big internal storage.

Both phones are prices within the $250 in their most expensive variants. But, if you have $250 with you which of these phones would you rather purchase?

Redmi Note 9s vs Tecno Camon 15 Premier

Basically we are expecting both phones to offer same user experience and performance. But, we all know that similar price tags does not also mean similar user experience and performance.

You can and should go over to our YouTube Channel and watch this Head To Head Video created by @Maii_HD regarding these two phones.

Now its time for us to start the comparison proper. And we are starting from the network connectivity of both phones.

Network Connectivity

In the network category both phones come with 2G, 3G and 4G. There is no 5G for either phone. This is okay given that the incoming 5G technology is yet to be available in most countries.

Build, Design and Display

Both phone was built with same material (front glass, plastic back and plastic frame). The pop up selfie camera of the Camon 15 premier does makes it look more premium. But that is not to say the dew drop design of the Redmi Note 9s is old fashioned (at least not yet).

There are also some similarities in the display of both phones. Tecno Camon 15 Premier comes with a screen size of 6.6 IPS LCD display while the Redmi Note 9s comes with a 6.67 IPS LCD display. Except from the Motorized pop up technology of the Camon 15 Premier, every other feature here is pretty much same..

Well, the fact here is that there is really nothing different in the display of both phones. Same built materials, same design, same display size and display type. Some persons might prefer dew drop display others the full screen of the motorized pop up selfie camera.

Operating System and Chipset

Both phones runs on the latest Android 10 Software and with the Tecno Phone using the latest Tecno UI HiOS6 and the Redmi Phone using Xiaomi UI MIUI 11. When it comes to operating system both phone offer same value.

We said earlier that Redmi Note are popular for having gaming SOC. This is also true of the Redmi Note 9s that comes with an SOC from Qualcomm the Qualcomm SM7125 Snapdragon 720G (8 nm). Which is a better performing SOC than the Mediatek MT6765 Helio P35 (12nm) of the Tecno Camon 15 Premier.

To be honest, Tecno Mobile could have powered the Camon 15 premier with a better performing SOC from MediaTek. I mean, using an SOC built on (12nm) is not the best of ideas. But then again they also have to keep the phone within price range. So its a case of bringing something new ad downgrading some features.

For a better gaming and graphics experience, the Redmi Note 9s is your phone. Don’t get it wrong here. Its not like the MediaTek Helio P35 of the Camon 15 premier is a bad SOC but compared with the Snapdragon 720G, it has no chance of beating it when it comes to performance.

Internal Storage and RAM

So far, the Tecno Camon 15 Premier comes with a 6GB RAM and 128GB Internal Storage while the Redmi Note 9s comes with a 6GB RAM, 64GB Internal Storage and a 6GB RAM, 126GB Internal Storage. Both Phones have space for external storage via microSD card.

Both phones offer same value here but the Redmi Phone offer its customer options. This way there will be variant of the Redmi Note 9s that is more pocket friendly.

Camera

The 48MP main camera sensor of the Redmi Note 9s is good but 64MP main camera sensor of the Tecno Camon 15 premier is even more impressive. This new camera sensor of the Camon 15 premier is from Sony and that is the main reason why we think it will perform better than the Redmi 48MP sensor.

Upfront, the Camon 15 premier comes with a 32MP pop up selfie camera which is expected to be better than the 16MP selfie camera of the Redmi Note 9s.

Redmi Note 9s has cameras that can take those good photo qualities but we expect the photo quality of the Camon 15 premier to be even better. Well, this is no much of a surprise given the fact that the Tecno Camon phones are camera phones.

Battery

Redmi Note 9s is powered by a 5020 mAh battery with 18W fast charge which than the 4000 mAh battery found in the Tecno Camon 15 premier. The Redmi Note 9s battery will last longer and will be easier to charge.

Prices

In their most expensive variants, both phones cost about $250, N97,500 Naira. So, you can get both of these phones at almost same price from local retailers.

Well, its decision time and its time for you to make a pick between these two phones. But below is my conclusion about these phones.

Well, for a more smooth experience when playing games, graphics and animations with big battery then the Redmi Note 9s is your phone. But, for movie lovers, photo freaks and showing of some new tech then the Tecno Camon 15 premier is your phone.

What the Camon 15 lacked in SOC it gained in new pop up technology then what the Redmi Note 9s lacked in technology it gained in SOC.

This Redmi Note 9s vs Tecno Camon 15 Premier comparison is to help you decide. One a movie and camera phone the other a more powerful SOC and smooth gaming experience.
