Late last year, we got news that Xiaomi will be releasing a new phone called the Redmi Note 9T. It’s the very first month of 2021 and we have the confirmation of its arrival. According to a tweet by Xiaomi UK on tweeter, the new affordable 5G phone will debut come January 8.
It seem the launch event is schedule to kick off by 12PM GMT and giving the present condition of the pandemic, it might just be an online event or Xiaomi will simply release the phone into the market.

The 5G connectivity is the key feature of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9T. It was the device we thought would launched in Nigeria when Xiaomi Nigeria tweeted about bringing first 5G phone into the country. It appeared Xiaomi had other plans and brought the Xiaomi Mi 10T series to Nigeria instead.

Redmi Note 9T was spotted in Geekbench, so we can confirm to some reasonable degree that the phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8000U chipset. And the phone also have 4GB RAM but will run Android 10 out of the box not Android 11.
Another feature of the phone we can gather from the teasers so far is that it has circular camera module at the back (oreo-shaped camera island). However, there are only three cameras at the back. We still have to wait till January 8th to find out the specific details of the cameras.

These leaked specs are those of affordable premium midrange phones. And we are expecting the Redmi Note 9T to be more affordable compared to the recently released Xiaomi Mi 10T.
We don’t know if this device will be launched in non 5G regions. But, if Xiaomi could launched its more expensive Xiaomi mi 10T in Nigeria, then there is a good chance the more affordable Redmi Note 9T will also come to Nigeria.
