Samsung Galaxy A22 Review
1. Display and Build Material

The display of the Samsung Galaxy A22 is pretty impressive when it comes to its display and build materials. Its size is 6.4-inch, uses AMOLED panel and has 90Hz high refresh rate. It has 720 x 1600 resolution (HD+) which has its own limitations.

From our test, the front glass is scratch resistant and is pretty touch. This phone won’t bend easily and it will survive a few falls. But, the glossy back plastic takes lots of fingerprint and using a protective case is highly recommended.
2. Software

The Galaxy A22 runs Android 11 out of the box along with Samsung’s One UI 3.1 skin software. Samsung has promised 2 years of major software updates for this device. And this means this phone will get upgraded to Android 13.

Using the interface of the device is pretty familiar. Paired with the One UI software, the user interface of the Galaxy A22 is pretty nice. But, you will need to get a third-party app to use App drawer – if that is your thing.

Galaxy A22 is equipped with the MediaTek Helio G80 gaming chipset. It make use of Arm Mali-G52 MC2 GPU and a CPU clocked at 2.0GHz. This chipset is a good performing chipset but a teardown video shows that the chipset lacks proper cooling.

Without proper cooling, the chipset will get hot while working and this will slow down its performance over time. So, you can’t use this device extensively for a long time as it will affect the performance of the device.
The Galaxy A22 comes with 4GB of RAM and an option of 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. There is also space for storage expansion via microSD card.
4. Back and Front Camera

The main camera is one of the best feature of the Galaxy A22. Its 48MP main sensor come with OIS feature and it improved the photo quality you get with this device. Although the photos from the main camera is a little soft, but it gives you good quality even in low light condition – night photos.

You also get an 8MP ultrawide, 2MP depth senor, and 2MP macro lens to compete the quad rear camera. Upfront you get a 13MP camera to take selfies. The rear camera can not shoot 4K videos but can only record 1080p videos.
But, you’ll enjoy the OIS feature when taking photos and shooting videos – steady video and less blurry photos.
5. Battery
Samsung Galaxy A22 is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast charge technology. The battery can take you for 24 hours with 90Hz refresh rate turned on.

The Samsung Galaxy A22 is a good device you can buy and its quite affordable. It has OIS in its camera, has 90Hz refresh rate, uses an AMOLED display, has big battery, and good software update plan.

But, its not a device built for heavy users. The Teardown Video of the Galaxy A22 shows that its cooling system is not that efficient. And this will make it get heated up pretty quickly and this in turn will affect its performance.
