The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is the fourth generation of the Galaxy Z Fold series from Samsung. This is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 released last year. And even though the Z Fold 4 has a similar design as the Z Fold 3, it has a bigger aspect ratio and features a brand new chipset.

Chipset, CPU, and GPU
The performance of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. It is a 5G chipset built on TSMC’s 4nm process technology. This chipset features an Octa-core CPU with a speed clocked at 3.19GHz and an enhanced Adreno 730 GPU. The peak download and upload speeds of this chipset are above 10Gbps and 5Gbps respectively.
The chipset in the Z Fold 4 is not only powerful but also good at managing heat. It has the Cortex-X2 power core and 3×2.75 GHz Cortex-A710 efficiency cores. Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 can encode and decode 8K videos and has an advanced AI engine.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 features triple rear cameras and a single front camera on the inner and outer display. On the rear, it has a 50MP primary camera with Dual Pixel PDAF and OIS features. The primary camera is supported by a 12MP telephoto lens and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 has two front cameras. The inner display has a 10MP camera placed under the screen and the outer display has another 10MP camera placed in a punch hole on the top screen.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 has two displays. When it is opened (or unfolded), the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a display size of 7.6-inches. This is a 1080p OLED with a 21.6:18 aspect ratio and has support for a 120Hz smooth refresh rate. And when the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is folded (closed), it has a 6.2-inches 1080p OLED panel with a 23.1:9 aspect ratio and support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The outer display can be used as you would a normal phone if you don’t want to use the wider inner screen.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is made of a Plastic front (ultra-thin glass), glass back (Gorilla Glass Victus), and an aluminum frame. The front and back design of the phone looks really cool. The inner front screen is flat and it has an under-display front camera. This device is durable because it has an IPX8 water resistant (up to 1.5m for 30 mins) certification and also has an Armour aluminum frame with tougher drop and scratch resistance.
The volume rocker and power button of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 are on the right side of its frame. Its microphone, speaker grill, and USB Type-C charging port are located on the bottom frame. This phone does not have a port for a 3.5mm headphone jack and no microSD card slot for storage expansion.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 has two storage options. It comes with 12GB + 256GB storage and 12GB + 512GB storage. There is a 1TB version that is expected to also debut in selected regions.
