The Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A73 is set to hit stores in 2022 but it appears there will be a little twist to the release of both phones. It seems Samsung will launch the Galaxy A73 one month after the launch of the Galaxy A53.
Although the reason for this is not officially made public by Samsung but we think the shortage with supply of components might play a major role. Remember the company had same issue with the release of the Galaxy S21 FE last year. The late release did make the S21 FE very popular so let’s hope this will work out well for the Galaxy A73.
Galaxy A53 and A73 Release Dates
Samsung has this tradition of releasing both the Galaxy A7x and A5x smartphones at same event. But this year, the company will be launching the Samsung Galaxy A53 by March and will launch the Galaxy A73 by April.
As usual, the Galaxy A5x series is one of the most popular Samsung midrange smartphones. This is because these phones offer so much value for the money (case study is the Galaxy A52s 5G).
Specifications of Galaxy A53 and A73 (speculations)
According to rumors, the chipset inside the Galaxy A53 is the Samsung Exynos 1200 paired with 6/8GB of RAM and 128/256GB of storage. Its display size is said to 6.5-inch, FHD+ resolution, with 120Hz refresh rate support.
It’s said to feature a 64MP main camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP macro lens, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 32MP selfie camera (same camera set up and sensor as the Galaxy A52). The phone will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charge support.
From leaks and renders so far, the Galaxy S53 has similar design as its predecessor. Even the back and front panel, the camera modules, and build materials appears to be same. It is this happens to be true then the Galaxy A53 will be water and dust resistant also.
The only difference between the Galaxy A53 and A52 of last year is the chipset inside. While the Galaxy A52 rocked the Snapdragon 750G, the incoming Galaxy A53 rocks the Exynos 1200 chip.
As for the Galaxy A73, its display size is expected to be 6.7-inch, AMOLED panel with FHD + resolution, and 120Hz refresh rate support. The chipset inside is expected to be Snapdragon 750G processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
It’s also expected to be water and dust resistant and to have a 108MP main camera at the rear. Its design and looks will also be similar to those of the Galaxy A52 of last year. It’ll be powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charge.
Both phones will have support for 5G connectivity and will boot Android 12 out of the box. We expect to see more of the Samsung Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A73 when they finally debut in March and April respectively.
