By two-way messaging service, it means that the Snapdragon Satellite will support two-way messaging for emergency use, SMS texting, and “other messaging applications”. For those who are staying in remote villages, rural, and offshore locations, the Snapdragon satellite will prove to be useful to them.
To accomplish this, Qualcomm partnered with Iridium. Iridium operates a 66-strong Low Earth orbit satellite constellation. This partnership with Qualcomm made the Snapdragon satellite possible and it’s coming to Android premium smartphones in the second half of 2023.
