The Xperia 1 IV has a 6.5-inch 4k Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support (protected by corning gorilla glass victus). It comes in three different colours: Black, Violet, and White. Also, it has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric verification. The device is water and dust proof.

Sony Xperia 1 IV is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G chipset, paired with 12 GB RAM and 256/512 GB storage. The battery capacity is 5,000 mAh with 30W fast charge support. Additionally, the device boots Android 12 out of the box.

On the back of the smartphone are quad rear camera systems consisting of a 12MP OIS main cam, alongside a 12-megapixel ultrawide, a 12MP OIS telephoto 5x optical zoom lens and 3D ToF sensor. On the front is a 12 MP camera for selfies.
