Sony has announced the fourth generation of phones in its Xperia 10 lineup. The company is calling it the Sony Xperia 10 IV (Mark Four). Physically and design-wise, there is not much difference between the Xperia 10 IV and Xperia 10 III. But the new Xperia 10 IV comes with some notable changes on a closer look.
One some the differences is that the Xperia 10 IV has a height of 154mm and a width of 67mm which makes it shorter and narrower than the Xperia 10 III. Due to the reduction in height and width, the Xperia 10 IV weighs just 162 grams and according to Sony, this makes it the lightest 5G phone with a 5,000mAh battery in 2022.

The display is still 6-inches with a 21:9 aspect ratio. It still features an OLED panel, FHD+ resolution, and sadly the refresh rate remains 60Hz. Sony claims that the display of the Xperia 10 IV is 50 times brighter than the display of the Xperia 10 III because of the use of a brighter Triluminous panel. There is also now a Gorilla Glass Victus protecting the display.
The Xperia 10 IV is powered by a 5,000mAh battery but comes without a charger in the box. So, if you need a charger you’ll have to use your old one, and should you divide to go buy a new charger for the phone, have in mind that it has support for a 30W fast charge solution.

The camera setup inside the Xperia 10 IV is the same as the Xperia 10 III. It has a 12MP main camera with an OIS feature, an 8MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and an 8MP front camera for selfies. Sony also added a bunch of new features including a tweaked Superior Auto mode, Auto HDR, a dedicated Night mode, and AI-based face sharpening for selfies on the front camera.
The chipset inside the Xperia 10 IV is the Snapdragon 865 5G chipset which is a 6nm process chipset from Qualcomm. This chip is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Sony Xperia 10 IV boots Android 12 out of the box and will get at least two years of software updates.
