Teardown video Redmi K60 and K60 Pro: The outside design of the Redmi K60 and K60 Pro is basically the same but it seems the similarities between both smartphones go deeper than what is on the surface. A teardown video of the Redmi K60 and Redmi K60 Pro (or disassembly video) has confirmed that both phones are basically the same phones even on the inside.

The new teardown video shows that the Redmi K60 Pro has a larger camera sensor (1/1.49” IMX890) than the Redmi K60 with a (1/2” OV64B40) sensor. So, to make the smaller sensor of the K60 fit in the same position as the PRO, Xiaomi used a plastic bracket around the camera sensor of the K60 to adjust its dimensions.
Although the chipset, RAM, and storage technology on both phones is different, the layout of the motherboard of both phones is not. From the Redmi K60 and K60 Pro teardown video, it can be clearly seen that the layout of the motherboard is practically the same.
For those who don’t already know, The Redmi K60 Pro uses the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, UFS 4.0 storage from Samsung, and LPDDR5X RAM from Micron while the Redmi K60 uses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 instead with UFS 3.1 and LPDDR5 from Samsung.
Both smartphones also featured a massive vapor chamber to keep the chipsets cool. A close look at the vapor chambers shows there are slight differences. This might be because the vapor chambers were supplied by two different suppliers but the sizes of the vapor chambers are the same.
For every difference between these two phones, there are two similarities. A look at the motherboard shows that the Surge P1 charging chip is at the bottom. One difference is that on the Redmi K60 Pro, the small board where the USB-C port lives have an extra chip to handle the 120W wired fast charging. In contrast, on the Redmi K60, the board is the same, but the chip is missing (you can see the pads where it is supposed to go).
One look at the batteries of both phones you’ll see that the battery of the Redmi K60 is bigger in terms of capacity and physical dimensions. The teardown video of the Redmi K60 and K60 Pro shows that both phones are more similar on the inside than they’re different. At first glance on the inside, you might not be able to tell the differences between both phones.
